Hi I'm Kierra

I grew up in Las Vegas. I love being a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of four kids, three boys and a girl. I have been married for twelve years, and have led a rich and fulfilling life. Because my husband served in the military and was also in school for several years, we have lived in several different locations including Southern California, Massachusetts, and South Carolina. I studied Interior Design in school, I love to dance, and I really love to be active with my kids playing sports and games. My favorite sports are soccer and snowboarding, both of which I try to keep up with when my life allows. I look forward to one day participating in a triathlon.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church. I have very good parents who taught me right from wrong, and there were many instances in my life, even miraculous instances, that allowed the Holy Ghost to teach me through my parents' testimonies and experiences that I had. But just because I grew up LDS, I came to a point in my life where I did need to know for myself. I got that answer through diligence in living God's commandments, scripture study, and prayer. It was a gradual knowledge, but once I received the fullness of that knowledge, there was no denying the power by which that knowledge came. I love my Heavenly Father, and I know that I am his child. Just like I love my own children and have special bonds with each of them (and as my parents do with me and my siblings), I also have a special and unique relationship with Him. There isn't a day that goes by that I am not reminded that He does truly love me, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't experience a tender mercy from the Lord. The more aware that I am of those sweet and tender mercies, the more I realize I do receive. I have truly a blessed life. I know that everything I have now, is through the grace and mercy of God. I also truly love my Savior Jesus Christ, and know that what he has done for me (and all of mankind) cannot be repaid, and that he was the only person capable of doing what He did and making the sacrifices that he made in order for ME to live with my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I love teaching youth and children the gospel principles and how to apply them in our lives. By doing so, they teach me as well as the Holy Ghost which manifests to me time and time again that what I am teaching is true. In my family we have Family Home Evenings on Monday nights. This give me a chance to share what I know and feel about the gospel with my own children. It also gives us time as a family, to celebrate being a family, and have fun and spend time with each other. They each have responsibilities and it gives them a chance to fulfill those responsibilities within our family unit. I also try to volunteer in the community, at my children's school, and with the physically and mentally handicapped. I feel so close to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ when I do so. It makes me a happier person, and I am a better mom because of it! Not only does it teach my own children to have compassion and to be a leader, it gives me a great sense of self satisfaction. I treat others better when I feel that.
