Hi I'm Larry

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a retired accountant, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have been married 38 years, a dad of two sons and two daughters, and a grandfather to 11 grandchildren. I am semi-retired. I worked as a self employed accountant for 34 years. I am now a business manager for a mini storage. I like to read, I have had 4 motorcycles, I don't currently ride. I enjoy visiting with people about their lifes.

Why I am a Mormon

My family have been Mormon for five generations. I was baptized at the age of 8 years old(the age of accountability). I wasn't converted to the church and its teachings until my teenage years. My testimony began in my youth and continued to grow through the years. I decided to serve a mission for the church when I was 19 years old. I read the Book of Mormon before my mission. It was hard to understand at first. I was ordained an Elder in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I attended the Temple and received sacred ordinances and blessings. I felt the spirit very strong in the Temple. It was one of the happiest days of my life. I was called by a living prophet, David O. McKay, to serve in the Southern Far East Mission with headquarters in Hong Kong. All I could think of was King Kong, so I thought I was going to Japan at first. My mission covered Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, and Thailand at the time. My mission president was inspired to have me serve in Hong Kong. I lived there for 2 1/2 years. I was assigned to work and live with a missionary companion. I served with 14 different companions during my mission. It was during my mission I really learned how to pray sincerely and study the scriptures. My testimony of Joseph Smith, The Book of Mormon, and the gospel of Jesus Christ grew in leaps and bounds. I felt the spirit stronger than any other time in my life so far. I was very happy. My testimony of the gospel is a priceless possession, and must be nurtured and cared for all through my life. I have now read the Book of Mormon over 32 times. I have also read and studied the Bible. I know they are true. I know the teachings of the church are true. I know we are lead today by a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson. He has served as an apostle over 50 years. I know that Jesus Christ lives and leads his church today through the prophet.

How I live my faith

I attend church each week, serve in the church as needed, and visit the families that are assigned to me to watch over and help them when needs arise. I attend the temple. I have been ordained a high priest, and help lead the high priests as an assistant to our leader by organizing socials, cleaning the building every three months. I meet each week with our leader to discuss things that need to be taken care of to serve the needs of our members. Each month I call the home teachers in my district to get a report on the families they visit and discuss any needs of the families. I try to share the gospel with others as opportunities arise.
