Hi I'm Amanda

I'm an Idaho farm girl. I spend my days at home with my sweet baby. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a very family oriented person. I love my family and would do anything for them. I just became a mom in April, and have been trying to adjust to this new life of being at home and caring for a new life. I graduated with my Bachelors Degree and worked for 3 years at a doctor's office before having our little girl. My husband and I enjoy hiking, camping, swimming, and going to the movies. I also enjoy shopping and reading. I love to create, and try to do so by baking, taking photos, making cards, and arranging flowers. If someone was capable of burning cold cereal, it would be me, as cooking is not my forte...it's the thought that counts though, right? :) I try to enjoy life and be a happy person.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, so for a long time I was a member because my family was. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I began to question what I actually knew for myself, instead of just believing what my parents did. I remember seriously contemplating what I believed, and reading the Book of Mormon and praying to Heavenly Father to help me to come to my own knowledge. One night, as I was hanging out with one of my girlfriends, we were talking about testimonies and she said that she wished she could just have a major experience occur to confirm to her what was the truth, such as lightning striking. That's when I realized that it doesn't always happen from a big event. I already knew the truth because I had felt it throughout my whole life. I knew that the church was true through the spirit that I felt, and the happiness that I felt while living my life the way the church taught. When I read my scriptures or prayed to my Heavenly Father, I just felt this peace. That is how I know Heavenly Father loves me and wants me to be happy, and by living my life in accordance to His teachings, we can be truly happy.

How I live my faith

I absolutely love living my faith by helping the youth in the church. I work with the young women in my church by planning activities to help them gain testimonies and grow as women and as daughters of God. I plan lessons to teach to them on Sundays, and weekly activities, both for spiritual growth and for fun! My husband works with the young men, so we frequently get to plan activities together when the young men and young women have combined activities.
