Hi I'm Reece

I'm a Mormon, a husband, a medical student, an athlete, and I love life. I love the church and know it's true!

About Me

I am currently half way through medical school. I enjoy being outdoors and learning new things. I recently learned how to fly fish and it has taken it's tole on my grades/studying:) I love to bike and have ran 2 marathons. I have done a couple triathlons as well including a half ironman. I studied at BYU before my mission to Mozambique. I grew up partly in northern California and also in rural Nevada. I have been happy everywhere I've gone and feel like it's a choice we make. I have no kids, but am happily married to the best girl for me. She is the girl of my dreams. I'm biased but I think that she's the best there ever was!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a momon because I was born into the church. A better question is why I am an Active/practicing mormon. I am still active in the church because I gained a testimony of the church. It was not until I read The Book of Mormon cover to cover by myself that I really felt like I had my answer. I remember before that feeling that the church was good and that I felt good going, but once I completed The Book of Mormon I felt a unique feeling that I had earned my answer. I prayed directly and for several minutes before I had the distinct impression that I knew the church was true. I felt that although I had received the confirmation many times before, this time was special. Through this experience in my teens and repeated spiritual experiences I have come to know that the principles taught are given by God through his prophet on the earth. I am confident in my personal conviction and know that if I live the commandments of God I will be able to have an eternal family.

How I live my faith

I live my faith humbly. I do not try to be annoying or arrogant with my lifestyle choices. I do stand up for what I beleive and am verbal when I think somethings are innappropriate. I invite many people to church, and am confident that as you attend the meetings you feel more comfortable. One of my favorite parts of going to church is learning new things. I have been to many other churches and religious services. I know that they are good too. However, I have never felt so enlightened as I do attending LDS church services. I currently have only one calling/job in my ward and that is to visit a young family every month and see how they are doing as well as share a message. The reason I don't have more to do is because of my commitments in school. As soon as time permits I will likely have 3 or so responsibilities. I love serving in the church. I pay 1/10th of my earnings to the church as well as a monthly offering to those in need. I try to be there for anyone who is in need.
