Hi I'm Davina

I'm a homeschooling mum of 8. I grew up in Sydney Australia, now live in Queensland. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mum of 8 beautiful children and will be a grandma soon. I have been married to a wonderful man for 20 years and look forward to many more. I enjoy almost anything from gardening to sewing, painting, music, service, playing with the kids and reading the scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

My husband and I started going to church with our children in 2003, before that we attended many different denominations and found in all of them many wonderful people and teachings but I felt something was missing. For the longest time we didn't know what it was or even how to find out what this feeling was. Then we made friends with some Mormons. There was something different about them, something spiritual, they were happy, confident and full of joy. I wanted that for my family. Now I feel like I was once only looking at the surface of a beautiful ocean and now I am swimming it's depths, discovering so many beautiful wonders and mysterys. All of which have given me an amazing relationship with my Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ, and with my loving Father in Heaven. This is something I cannot live without. It is who I am. The more I learn the more my joy is full.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith? In so many ways. My faith is everything to me. I have served in many capacities at church, from organizing activities, teaching the children in Sunday School, holding events for our womens group such as learning a new skill or assembling emergency packs for disaster victims, helping our members to collect food storage and the knowledge of how to use it. At the moment I am teaching our youth (12-18) all about our Saviour and His ministry. In the community there are always opportunities to serve. My daughters are Girl Guides so we help there and they also play the piano to the elderly at the nursing home. That is always a heart warming experience. From mowing the neighbours lawn to sending some biscuits to the neighbour up the street, or taking the elderly ladies bin in from the road, there is always something we can do for others. That is how our Heavenly Father intented our communities to be, loving and serving each other.
