Hi I'm Carly

I'm a foodie and a feminist. I'm a recent college graduate, a magazine-junkie, and an aspiring writer. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love journalism, books, print design, and magazines. I just graduated from college, and I'm preparing to serve a mission for the church in Guadalajara, Mexico. Once I get back I'm off to New York to try and make it as a magazine editor. I love to work and create, and my faith inspires my creativity.

Why I am a Mormon

The prophet Joseph Smith once described the gospel simply as "tasting good." He said, "I can also taste the spirit of eternal life. I know it is good." That's what it comes down to for me. I frankly do not know all the answers in life, and I have had my share of doubts. But the gospel tastes good to me, and I love it. It helps me to live a happier life. It really does. I'm a kinder and more loving person because I have come to know Jesus Christ, and this church has helped me to find hope and peace in this hard and confusing world.

How I live my faith

I live my faith at work and school and hopefully everywhere else. I love creating beautiful things, whether that means web designs, magazine articles, well-reasoned ideas, or simple kindness. Christ has taught me to love everyone and to input that love into everything that I do. This doesn't always come easily, but it's my goal. So whether I'm working on an article, chatting with a friend, or just having fun, I try and do it with love. Love is what everything bottles down to.
