Hi I'm Dave

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father who works in demolition. My wife and 3 children are my teammates in everything I do, and I'm truly blessed to have them. I'm writing on this site because my religion has helped me in all aspects of my life, and especially at work and at home. I also enjoy watching and playing sports, skiing, playing music on the piano and other instruments, long walks on the beach, etc, etc, and I try to involve my family and friends in all of these hobbies. I try to be a good Christian and I try to live in such a way that people can see that without even hearing it from me. I also think it's important to have a sense of humor and see the bright side of life. That's how people have been able to put up with me all these years, so I feel obligated to do the same.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always felt the truth in the teachings of the church, and I've personally received answers to my prayers numerous times and in various ways which have confirmed the love Heavenly Father has for me and everyone else. I've had so many wonderful experiences as a direct result of my membership in the church, and I have opportunities to serve people all around me because of how service oriented the church is. I truly feel that being a Mormon, or more accurately, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, gives a person the best opportunity to truly follow the teachings of Jesus and be like Him.

How I live my faith

I had the opportunity to serve in Brazil as a missionary for 2 years and I was able to help the people there in various ways both physically and spiritually. I have also had the opportunity to help many times in the community by cleaning up public and private properties, doing yard work and other service for elderly and physically disabled, visited many many people in the local wards I've attended, taught youth in Sunday School and helped with Boy Scout programs, and given many lessons and talks in the church on Sundays. The Church gives me tremendous opportunity to serve others in and out of our faith, and it also helps me to get joy from that service. The Church has always blessed me with a large extended family of fellow church members who are striving to be the best people they can. I've also found tremendous peace as I've followed the teachings of the prophets and apostles that guide the church. I know from my life of experience in testing their words that the Lord actually guides the Church and that He lives and Has a plan for each of us. This is the most important knowledge in the entire world and it has given me a strong desire to help others find the happiness that I have through that knowledge.
