Hi I'm Rachel

I am a photographer, a bookworm, a wife, a dreamer, a dancer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with the most wonderful family imaginable. When I think about my childhood, I can hear the laughter that radiated throughout the house. Because of my family, I have the montra, "If you can laugh at it, you can live with it." My parents taught me to work hard. I graduated cum laude with a degree in psychology... and absolutely no plans for what I was going to do with the degree! Here's what I did know: that I love people and wanted to do something to make them happy; I love beauty and see it all around me- in places, people, and moments. Through a series of twists and turns, I ended up becoming a full-time portrait photographer. I love it. I love meeting a person and being able to capture their essence in a photograph. I love knowing that I created something that means something to someone not only now, but will for years and, hopefully, even generations. I am married. My husband is the "mac to my cheese." I love him and need him in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I could give a list of experiences I have had that have strengthened my testimony, but it all comes down to one simple fact- the gospel is true. The Savior lives. The Book of Mormon is another witness of Christ. God speaks to His people through Thomas S. Monson. I know all this is true because I have felt the Holy Ghost testify the truth of it to me. I can see the Lord in the details of my life. I know the gospel is true. Therefore, I live it.

How I live my faith

I learned a long time ago that I am not here on this earth for me, but rather for others. The church provides me ample opportunities to serve those around me. Teaching children, visiting the sick, sharing my testimony, befriending those who need a friend, and community service projects are just some of the ways the church helps me live my faith. I also live my faith through keeping high standards. Every day I have the opportunity to set an example for others. Through doing so, I hope to inspire others to set high standards for themselves.
