Hi I'm Mackenzie

I love the brain, I write jokes for Laffy Taffy, I love to play ultimate frisbee, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to ride horses; I have been riding since I was eight years old, and I finally have my own horse, Lily. I am the oldest of seven kids, and I love every hectic minute that comes along with being part of such a large family. Some of my favorite things include playing basketball, running, making and eating smoothies, the color green, traveling, taking walks in the sunshine and telling my own punny jokes. I also love playing ultimate frisbee! I have been on a competitive team for the last 6 months and I love every minute on the field. I consider myself an honest, dependable person, and I thoroughly enjoy making new friends with grocery store clerks, dentists' and doctors' secretaries, and fellow fitness gurus at the gym, among other friendly and interesting people. I have grown up in the south, and I love the good ol' southern hospitality, homemade food, and family gatherings typical in a southern lifestyle. I recently graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience. I want to make a difference in the world by teaching others about the magnificence of the human brain and helping them to develop a desire to live healthily so that they can live long and vibrant lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church on this earth that has the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel such hope and joy in my life because I know who I am and why I am here on earth. I also know that my family is eternal - knowledge I was grateful for when first my mom and then my dad had near-death experiences. I know that the power of the priesthood is real and prayers really are answered. I remember this every time I get a loving text from my dad or a hug from my mom. I know that the Book of Mormon is a book of scripture, one that has instructed me in the ways of Lord and offered me strength and peace in times of trial. I know that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, and that I want to live my life in a manner that allows me to keep my covenants, do good unto others, and eventually return to my Father in Heaven when my mission in life is complete. I am a Mormon because I know it is true. I am a Mormon and I love it!

How I live my faith

I work in a call center, and I take calls from many people around the world. My job could be mechanical, monotonous, or even menial. But ever since day one I have chosen a different perspective and I hold myself to a higher standard. Before answering an incoming call I take a moment to remind myself of one very important thing: This person is a child of God. Be sure to hang up the phone with this person feeling respected and loved as the important individual they are. Because of my personal creed, I know that a loving Heavenly Father has directed people to my queue so that I can take the opportunity to add a bit of sunshine to their day. Treating people with respect and love, even when they may not reciprocate the same social pleasantries, helps me to remember that the worth of every soul is great in the sight of God. Every person deserves to feel His love. He offers it to everyone, even in a call center.
