Hi I'm Kay

I'm single, I'm Mormon, and a convert.

About Me

I am a single sister of the LDS church, having been single for 7 years, and pray for the Lord to provide me with an eternal companion whom I can be sealed to for all time and eternity some day. I like to travel, hike half dome, ski, bike ride, kayak, write poetry, read, sing karaoke, and just have a great time. Life is an adventure. Being mormon adds to my life, it doesnt' take away from all that I love to do. It provide me with such peace, and the feeling of being loved.

Why I am a Mormon

For me it all began in 1981 when some dear friends brought the missionaries to my house. It was a older couple (the Salways), married for time, serving as senior missionaries. I was taught the lessons about the church, and there was no question in my mind that the church was true, and I was baptized August 14, 1981. I have a strong testimony of the church, and the Book of Mormon, and know it to be true. I had a period of inactivity, but returned to the church stronger than ever. I have forgiven myself for the inactivity, as this had an impact on my family. My children would have grown up stronger, and better people (even though they are amazing), had they been raised in the church their entire life. The Young Women's and Young Men's programs prepare the youth to be better people, better spouses, better prepared for all the challenges that life has to offer. We have the temple to attend, and are able to do work for relatives who passed on without having the gospel presented to them. It is their opportunity, after death, to accept the gospel. I know that families can be together forever, I have learned this in the church, in the gospel, and in the temple, and I so look forward to joining my relatives beyond the vail with the Lord calls me home. This church and the gospel are such a blessing to all. I know that all who pray, with and open heart, and ask Heavenly Father whether the church will receive confirmation of the truthfulness of the gospel, and that this is the Lord's church. There is such love for our fellow man in this church. Won't you join us, or at least take a moment to see what we are about. Come to one of our meetings, and feel the spirit.. you will be forever changed.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day, prayer by prayer, scripture by scripture, and with full faith that Heavenly Father loves me unconditionally, see's me as a beautiful daughter, and knows my ever want, my ever need, and knows me by name. My calling is that of compassionate service assistant. What thi means is that if you or a member of your family are sick, have had surgery, a family member has passed on, etc., my job is to make sure that we rally together and bring your family meals, and do whatever we can to lighten your load. I used to be on the events committee, and we did Harvest Fair's, movie nights, potluck dinner's, chili cookoffs, holiday programs, etc. Our church is a volunteer church, even the Bishop (you might think of him as a pastor) is not paid. We are here to serve the church and to serve others. Callings are given to most members, in accordance with inspiration, and allow the members to be in the service of others. Callings are a real blessing. You may wonder if we have fun, because you hear that we don't smoke, drink (coffee or alcohol), do drugs, or have intimacy outside the bounds of marriage... but I am here to tell you we have a great deal of fun. We have senses of humor, we laugh, we are silly, we play practical jokes, and just really know how to have a great life. Our clean lifestyle, and our sense of humor, and our love for people draw people to us. I was on a cruise with some other single mormon's and other's joined our group because we were having such a great time. In still other situations, people have joined are group commenting on how much fun we have without drinking. It really is a great life, and I for one am going to live my life to the fullest.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormon's are Christians. We are in fact The Church of Jesus Christ, and our religion is based on his teachings. We know him as the son of God, and believe that he is our Savior and redeemer. Show more Show less
