Hi I'm Mason Branning

I'm an artist. A storyteller. I love laughing and making people smile. And I'm a mormon!

About Me

I have been drawing since I was a little boy. I have a huge interest in film and animation. I hope to become a director of animated and live action films someday. For now, I settle with making films with my family, mainly my brother, McIntyre, and my friends. I love to laugh. More than anything, I love making others laugh. I like to make people happy and realize that they DO have blessings and that they DO have purpose and I do that through my humor, my art, and my films. I'm a softy, for sure... I'm not afraid to cry. Seriously. Any movie could probably make me cry. But "a man who is not comfortable with his tears is uncomfortable with himself" I just made that quote up. I'm also a quote "maker up-er," apparently... I love biking, walking, swimming, and running is growing on me... I love music but cannot play a single instrument. I am just a music fanatic. I listen to music all the time, especially while I am drawing. Every piece of artwork has it's own soundtrack. I love, mainly, composers of movies. Danny Elfman is awesome. Hans Zimmer is my bro. And Yann Tiersen is an absolute must. Without music, life is absolutely different. It's almost colorless... One day I WILL learn how to play the piano. Maybe tomorrow... or the next day... or next week... I'm also a procrastinator... I'm a lover of the simple things. That's where I find my peace; in the simple truths of life...

Why I am a Mormon

Because It is the only thing in my life that is constant. The only thing that will always make me happy. It provides a comfort unlike any other. Being a Mormon means that you have searched and not settle for the "cheap seats." The worthwhile things always come at a cost. And to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints means that you have made your path sure by giving up the old life and pressing on with the fullness of joy in your new life. To be a Mormon means that you are a follower of Christ. No other meaning. You have hope, you have love, and you know that you have a purpose in this life. You know that everyone around you does as well. That's why I am a Mormon. Because my path has been made sure. I have no doubts that I am going where God wants me to go.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my relationships with my friends and my family. Through my example, through my attitude, and my language. I live it through being grateful for the things that I get every day. For the smiles, the rain, the sun, the wind. I try to serve people whenever I can. Because I know that when I am in the service of others I am only in the service of my Heavenly Father. I live my faith through my art. I only make things that everyone can enjoy. I don't want to exclude anyone. I want to make movies that everyone can enjoy. like I said, I don't want to exclude anyone. I want everyone to be happy, and if I have the opportunity to make as many people as I can happy through my art, books, movies, I will do it. This world can be very bleak sometimes. I just want to bring a sparkle, even if it's a little one, to the lives of those who need it. I want the things I do to become a safe haven for those who are searching for one. And for the ones who just want to make their safe haven an even better home. I live my faith in this way because that's what the gospel of Jesus Christ does for me. It provides me a refuge from the sadness, worry, and sin of this world. If I can lead people to this gospel through my example, my art, my ideas, or my smile, I will do it. My life is happy because my life is my faith. I live for happiness and I know that happiness is the presence of God in our lives. So, I want to keep getting happier.
