Hi I'm Janet

I grew up in Southern California and now live in Southern Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be with my family. I am a wife to an amazing husband. I am the proud mother of four children ranging in age from 12 to 17, including a set of twins. We enjoy boating, spending time at our cabin, and traveling whenever possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an active LDS family. However, there did come a time when I needed to decide if I had a testimony of the gospel or if it was simply something my parents believed. I knew I enjoyed the social aspect in the Church, but I really wanted to know for myself that I had a testimony of our Heavenly Father, of his Son, Jesus Christ, and of particular gospel ideas like the Atonement, the Plan of Salvation, of paying tithing and many others. During my reflection of my beliefs, I gained for myself, an individual firm testimony of the truthfulness of the Church's teachings, separate and apart from the testimony of others. The gospel has helped me in guiding the lives of my children and helping me to become a better person, wife, mother, and daughter of God.

How I live my faith

Currently, I have been asked to serve in the Church with the women of our congregation. I enjoy my association with them. I have found that when we serve others, a love grows for others. Relationships seems to take on a sense of family as we learn and grown together. I have an opportunity to visit women who share the same concerns, disappointments, joys and sorrows as I do. There is a real feeling of sisterhood. Since family is very important to me, I value the family unit. I am grateful to know that my relationships with my family can continue after this life has ended.

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is the women's organization in the Church. This organization is the largest women's organizations in the world. I love that I can enjoy time with other ladies who share similar interests, concerns and life events. The purpose in Relief Society is to build faith, strengthen our families and to help others. In our Relief Society, we've made quilts for babies and children who may need them we've prepared humanitarian packages to be sent to countries or areas who may see natural disasters we've had evenings where we learned to plant our very own vegetable gardens and we've had lovely evenings just socializing and being friendly to our neighbors. I have two special friends visit me each month and make sure I'm happy. If I have concerns, they are true friends and listen or even help me with my problems. I love the friendship and love of Relief Socity. Show more Show less
