Hi I'm Lyle

Grew up in Utah, relocated to Colorado in 1980. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the Savior, my family, friends, laughter, mountains and rain. I am passionate about gardening. I have coached and been involved with youth sports for many years, paricularly baseball. I have been certified and officiated all levels of high school football. I have the best, smartest, always right, most beautiful wife in the world.....universe..... My three kids give me pleasure that cannot be measured.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I love the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that He lives today as a ressurected being, the son of our Father in heaven. His true and everlasting gospel in its fullness was restored to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I have read, studied, pondered and prayed about the Book of Mormon asking the Lord for my own personal witness of the book's truthfulness. I know it to be true. Its words offer a fuller understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ, His life and teachings as taught by those called to be prohets here on the American continent. Prayers are answered. The heavens are open. The promptings of the Holy Ghost testifiy of eternal truths. We have a Prophet who lives upon the earth today. He leads, guides and directs the affairs of the Lord's church. His counselors are called as apostles to assist Him in this effort, just as apostles were established by the Savior, himself, while upon the earth. This is a tremendous blessing in my life. Their teachings and counsel offer comfort, guidance and direction in the often confused and troubled world which we live. If we heed their counsel and live by the teachings revealed in the scriptures (The Bible, Book Of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price), we, together with our families, can receive eternal life, exaltation and return to the presence of our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I offer my personal testimony that I know for myself that these teachings are true. God loves each one of us. He knows us personally. Because of this love we have been given the gift of the atonement of Jesus Christ, through which we can rid ourselves of the burden of sin.

How I live my faith

I try as best as I can to live by the teaching of Jesus Christ. His life was spent helping, teaching and assisting those in need. He establised his gospel, exemplified Godliness and showed us the ways of true happiness. We, as members of the church, have oppurtunities to work with our congregation and the community, teaching of the Savior's life and the goodness of His gospel and helping those in need through compassionate service. As a Bishop, I have accepted many resposibilities related to the welfare of the members of the congregation. These concerns are individual in nature and relate to all aspects of life. Our efforts seek to uplift, strengthen and bring individuals and families closer to Christ.
