Hi I'm Linda

I am a convert to the church. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother, a nana and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I grew up in California, later moved to WA state where I finished High School and met my husband of 35 years. I was married with a small baby in our first little house at the end of a dirt road, two missionaries came to my door. One of the missionaries said to me " I got a strong impression that I must come to the last house on this road, not to stop at any of the other houses on it, just this one". I started to take the lessons and was baptized about two months later. With all of my heart I know this is the path in which we need to be upon. I have come to know of a Father in Heaven that loves me for the person I am. I make mistakes, and he still is always there to help me. I work in the school district with children 5 thru 12 yrs. of age. I teach four and five year olds in primary on Sundays, or should I say they teach me, I have had many callings in the Church, but the ones I have learned the most from are in the the primary, and the stories of our Brother Jesus Christ from the scriptures. I love to do crafty things, cook and enjoy being with my family and friends. I love being with my grandchildren and being in this beautiful world we live in.

Why I am a Mormon

My father was a member of the church and I never knew it, he would not let me be baptized until I was old enough to pick which religon I wanted to belong to. I was taught by the missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and then baptized when I was 22, I know this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and we have his priesthood authority restored to us. I know that Joesph Smith as a very young boy had a vision of the Father and his son Jesus Christ. He was the chosen, he was faithful and kept his word to endure to the end of his mission to restore the gospel to the earth. This is The Church of Jesus Christ, It is Christ's church, the same church that was upon the earth when Jesus was here. I believe that we have a living Prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson, just like in the days of old, I believe he is a seerer and revelator in these days. Temples are in our midst, we make and keep sacred covenants with our Savior in this sacred house. It is wonderful to know that we can be married and sealed in the temple forever and ever, never ending. You can be sealed to your family forever. I love my family so much, I want to be with them in the eternities. I know our Father in Heaven loves us so much he wants us to return to him, that is the same as I feel about my family. When I go on to the next part of my life, I want to be with those of my past and those that will join us in the future. With all my heart I believe this to be the true church, I encourage you to hear the words of the Lord and read the book of Mormon, pray about it. Your eyes and heart will be opened just listen to the small voice in your thoughts. You will know it is true also, because you lived with Heavenly Father before and you will feel the truth. I say these things in the beloved name of our Savior Jesus Christ, Amen

How I live my faith

I teach the four year olds today, I have had a number of different callings in my 30 years of being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I do love working with young children again, it was my first calling in the church and this is a place of learning. I love to hear the stories of Jesus and all of the Prophets that have gone on before us. I visit teach three ladies in our church every month with a lesson and theme for that month. This helps to get to know all of the women and lets our leaders know of any needs that they have, if there are any. We as women are very compassionate we try to do as much service as we can, I sometimes volunteer at the DI, which is like the Good Will, I take my granddaughter to give service also. I feel it teachers her to be more respectful of others needs, we have fun together too. I volunteer at the communnitty food bank and I work a full time job. I like to think I am setting a good example for others. I love life and I love working with people. May you find where your heart knows it should be also. I fill my week trying to be like our brother and Savior Jesus Christ. I save the one day a week (Sunday) to do as the Lord has asked us to do. Rest from your labors, go to church and renew the promisis we make with the Lord, I look forward to being with my friends at church, learning, teaching and laughing. I love to take a nap and rest on that very special day of the week.
