Hi I'm Jordan

I'm a runner. I'm a Missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a love for running and for being active. I grew up in the middle of two boys who taught me how to play just about every sport and quizzed me on all the athletic stats. I failed most of the time. I have ran 3 marathons as of now and have plans to run more in the future. I love to do anything with a board or a ball. I love to be outside and in the mountains. I love to travel and hope to one day backpack through Europe. That is my dream!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church and have wonderful parents and grandparents who have been examples to me of how to live a more righteous life. Although I fall short on a regular basis, I am grateful for the knowledge that I have of a loving Heavenly Father and Savior who are by my side, helping learn from my mistakes and become a better person. It brings peace to me when I feel overwhelmed. Although I grew up a member of the church, there came a time when I had to find out for myself if this was something that I actually believed for myself, and if so, was I willing to live what I believed? It was a very humbling time in my life. It was a time that brought me to tears many times. The only place I ever seemed to find peace and comfort was from the scriptures, or the words of a latter-day prophet, or from the testimony of my parents and loved ones, hymns, church attendance, etc. All of these things helped me overcome some major trials and challenges. I am grateful for those hard times that brought me to my knees and allowed me to ask in humble prayer, if this really was the path that I was suppose to take in my life. It did not take long for my answer to come. I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who knows me specifically and answers my prayers in a very personal way.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full-time mission in Texas. I love being a missionary. I love being able to meet new people every day and talk about their beliefs and what has made them who they are over the years. I love being able to serve those around me daily. I have learned that simple acts of service bring a peace and happiness in our lives that cannot be filled in any other way. I have developed such a love for the scriptures. I am grateful for the time that I have every morning to truly study them. There are days that I don't want to stop studying... most days actually. I love learning more about the life and works of Jesus Christ, as well as former prophets and missionaries. It inspires me to be a better missionary! I only wish I could be half the missionary that Alma or Ammon were. All in all, the things that still help me to live my faith on a daily basis are no different then what helped me live it before... prayer, scripture study and going to church to partake of the sacrament. The gospel is "beautifully simple and simply beautiful". Our lives should be lived in the same way.
