Hi I'm Jared

I'm a singer, I'm always doing sports, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well... I am a singer, Dancer, Actor, and I love all sports. Having competed in most sports and having competed in singing competitions, Musicals, Ballroom dance teams, and more. I have come to enjoyed just about everything and greatful for the chance I had to be gifted with the ability to be talented in so many things. At this point in my life I am serving on a mission. Called as a desciple of Jesus Christ, I teach the gospel and the great message that comes from His Church. At home I have 1 older brother who is married and 3 younger sisters who are all talented and supportive of my service as a missionary. My parents taught me how to work hard and how to succeed in life early on. They taught me how to work, why to work, and many values that help me in those areas of work. Most importantly however, they taught me how to learn for myself of the truthfulness of the Gospel for myself. Through honest desire, study, pondering, testing the principles values and standards, then seeing how they help me. The most important part though was to honestly ask my Father in Heaven, in earnist prayer, if it was true. Since recieving that answer he has helped me in many ways learn and grow to become a better person. As a missionary of His Gospel, the Lord is my insperation and my guide, and I try to improve my life by following His example.

Why I am a Mormon

That's a funny question. For me, I have had a desire to know truth and gain a personal relationship with my Savior Jesus Christ. I believed that in order to know a lot of simple truths that Christ taught, I would have to get an answer about whether or not this Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, has Christs teachings directly from Him. In order to get that answer, I had to pray to know if these truths were truly established and restored by Christ though the prophet Joseph Smith. I asked this because of the choice I had made to learn of the truth for myself and not just believe because my parents said it was true. I read the Book of Mormon and studied it hard at a young age. At 8 I had been baptized believing in the faith of my parents, but at the age of 12-14, I wanted to make sure that I had made the right choice by being baptized in this church specifically. The covenants I made at baptism were very important to my Heavenly Father and I knew that I needed to know so I could stand up for what I had been taught. Especially as during teen years, a lot of partying and stuff goes on. I prayed, read, and did all I could to follow the commandments so I would be worthy of receiving the answer. Then I received it. I have since received many answers from the Holy Ghost in my life that has helped strengthen my testimony in Jesus Christ, in the Book Of Mormon and Bible, and in the Church Christ has re-established today.

How I live my faith

As a missionary, I do many things to help me live my Faith. Heavenly Father has given me an opportunity to serve him for the next two months. Actually as a missionary, I paid my way to go and I do not receive anything except for joy and a close relationship to my Savior (Jesus Christ.) I have given these past 2 yrs to help and guide others in a way that will bring them closer to Christ as it is the same opportunity for me. I hope to become a true follower of Christ so I may make a difference in my community and in His Church. In order to focus on Jesus Christ right now in my life, I live my life in a away separate from the world. I focus on Christ and how I can improve myself and become a better person through him. In order to separate myself from the world I stop doing things like; playing computer games, listening to almost all Music, watching T.V., I only talk to my family once a week by e-mail, and speak to them twice a year. I also do not date for these two years which some would say is crazy. I try during this time to serving others. Christ said, "If ye have done this unto the least of these my brotheren, Ye have done it unto me." I hope to become like my Savior more as I continue to serve Him in the rest of my mission and as I serve others in my general day to day life from here on out.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Jared
So the Bible was written by men, called of God, to teach the Gospel to God's people. These people are called prophets and they were commanded to write about the teachings in his gospel and the people living in that time were doing in being righteous to God's commandments. So the Bible teaches his Gospel but in order to have that Gospel, we needed a man called of God as a prophet to teach us this gospel. The Bible is not his Gospel so, it needed to be restored like had been done previously with Moses, Abraham, and many other prophets. So then, Why did it need to be restored again and who was the prophet who was to be called of God? Well like times of old in the bible, the Lord sets up his church with His Gospel. This happens with prophets like Abraham, Moses, and others. Even Christ himself came down to earth and during his life, paid for our sins, allowed us the opertunity to return to God, and also established his Church. He had 12 Apostles that were called to teach the Gospel as well. After a time, the apostles were killed and rejected. Paul said in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 that there would be a falling away before Christ came again. So when all the apostles were killed, Christ promised that He would restore the Gospel and His Church before he came again. This is where the Restoration came to place and the Lord restored the truths and that same Church he set up while on the earth here in this time through the prophet Joseph Smith. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Jared
Of Course not. We Help all those in need. I as a missionary help everyone I see in any way I can. The first prophet of the church, Joseph Smith, taught that we are " to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all." Ever since the church began, the church serves people. Now, The church also has programs to help people who have any range of situations happen to them from Loosing a job, to being effected by a Natural Disaster, and many other things. We are all Sons and Daughters of God. Therefore, as a Church, we help out all those in need that we can. Show more Show less
