Hi I'm David

I'm from Dauphin Island, AL. I'm currently a 1st year med student. I love rock climbing and ping pong. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 25 years old and working to become a doctor. I have a wonderful wife, who I truly cherish and love. I love to do anything sporty or outside...a big fan of climbing and camping. I enjoy all types of music, but I especially like jazz, oldies, and broadway. I am interested in energy and the nature of our planet. I love everything our world has to offer and if we do all we can to cultivate and take care of her, she will manifest some of the most beautiful sites we will ever see. I really enjoy rock climbing because it reminds me of life's journey. The climb is the most challenging and exciting part. It's difficult and sometimes you might fall, but you get back on the wall and keep climbing. Once you get to the peak, you take in the feeling of self-accomplishment, repel down and pick something else to climb...which is similar to life. I want to achieve greatness in this life and it requires faith, thinking, and a willingness to accomplish things that are difficult. I go for walks with my wife, just to talk with her about anything and everything we can think of. She encourages me to be my best and enjoy my successes. Communication is a big part of my life. I love getting to know people, where they are from, what they believe and what interests them. I love learning from others and applying wisdom to my own life from different cultures or religions I come to know.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church, but not in an area where my reiligion was well-known. I think that was something God intended for me from the start. One thing that I have learned to love is service. I often think about how I can I make someone's life a little bit easier throughout the day. I strongly believe in that joy that comes from selfless service. I know every religion teaches this principle in some way or another and through the teachings of Jesus Christ I have come to know the joy that he must have felt everyday as he taught and served others before himself. The gospel of Jesus Christ and his teachings answered every question I ever had. As I was willing to humble myself and be patient, God would answer my prayers in the right time. I have developed a better understanding that all experiences we have in this life are for our benefit if we choose to seek the the blessings and the knowledge that can be gained. No other religion I know allows man the opportunity to receive all the blessings of the kingdom of God in both this lifetime and the next.

How I live my faith

I am a very social person and I truly love to get people together to have a good time, whether it be work, perform service, or to have a spiritual discussion. I enjoy the company of others and strive to lift up and edify those around me. If all individuals did that, the Lord would unite us and bless us. I feel privileged to be a member of the church simply because of all the experiences I have had. I help others in any way I can and love to see a unified group serving God. The Lord stated, "If ye are not one, ye are not mine." God has truly given me multiple opportunities to serve others and communicate to establish a love and peace where ever I go. I serve my wife in any way I possibly can. She has been a great strength to me and I look forward everday to see her and serve her. She expresses her love and gratitude to me everyday. I really enjoy singing. It brings peace and comfort to me when I need it.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

David
The husbands and wives who are blessed with children know that it takes energy, patience, love and sacrifice to teach and bring up children in the ways of righteousness, but even more than that is the constant example that needs to be displayed by the parents. Husbands must love their wives, provide counsel and support, be a provider and establish stability in all the aspects of a family. Men must nuture their wives and children just as much as mothers do. Wives also must love their husbands, be supportive and counsel with them to attain an equality that the Lord has established from the beginning. Man is nothing without the woman and woman is nothing without the man. They must be unified in all things and equally share the work, discipline, and joy of raising our Heavenly Father's children.
