Hi I'm Steven

I'm a husband, I'm a father of 5 daughters, I'm a Registered Nurse, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have ben married to the love of my life for almost 17 years and we have 5 beautiful daughters. I am a Registered Nurse and have worked in the emergency department for a number of years. I enjoy spending time with my family hiking, biking and enjoying he wonderful outdoors. Reading is another pasion, especially books on history, nursing and my beloved Dodgers.

Why I am a Mormon

My family on my mother's side goes back to the beginnings of the restored church, with pioneer heritage. As a child I grew up on stories of my ancestors crossing the plains, enduring trials and entering the Salt Lake Valley, seeking freedom to practice their beliefs as they desired. As a youth I sought answers for myself to determine if what I was taught was true. After study and prayer I received confirmation that strengthened my testimony that the church was true, and that by following it's precepts that not only could I grow closer to my Heavenly Father, but learn to be more like my Savior so that I can return to his presence someday. I had the privilege to serve a full time mission introducing my fellow brothers and sisters to the redeeming precepts of the restored gospel taught within this church, and have continued this by teaching my own family precepts that they can use to grow closer to their Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. The basic message is that Jesus Christ lives and loves us, as does our Father in Heaven who loves us and wants us to be happy. He has restored a prophet here upon the earth in order to help guide us in these days through the trials and tumult that we will face as we strive to become more like our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

This church is not a passive church, membership in the church is very active serving one another. I remember once hearing a quote 1 day for church 6 days for fun, odds on going to heaven 6 to 1. I have had the opportunity to serve in various callings within the church, mostly teaching the youth of the church. The youth are an incredible generation, who desire to do what is right in preparing themselves to help and serve others. I enjoy the family atmosphere that is central to the ideology of the church, through the strength of our families we will succeed at anything that we do. The church is family, an open family, to all who desire to be part of it, and even those that don't. This is a choice that you need to make for yourself, receiving a witness of it's truthfulness through the spirit.
