Hi I'm Melody

4 years ago I hated running. I've now run 2 marathons! 10 years ago I wasn't. 9 years ago I became LDS. Positive change is good!

About Me

Army brat turned student family, I've lived all over the US. Married my inactive husband at age 18 then became a member. He's still inactive and our family is not. 3 kids. Married 16 years.

Why I am a Mormon

The Holy Spirit testifies of what is true. If someone really wants to know what to do in life they need to have an open heart and the humility to kneel and pray. I love the Gospel and learn day by day how to come closer to the Savior and rely on Him. I accept my weakness and know it is only through Christ I may be perfected. I'm a Mormon not because it is easy, it is not. I'm a Mormon because it is true and worth it.

How I live my faith

I've been a member of the church for 9 years. I've worked with the children and the sisters. I love serving in the church. I am amazed that with every calling I initially feel scared or overwhelmed or like I can not do it and then I realize that I have been called by God to do whatever it is he needs me to do and He will not leave me alone. I am so thankful for that knowledge and for the inspiration to do things I never knew I could. Last year I was able to plan and carry out the children's Sacrament Meeting. It was a beautiful thing to combine the music, the testimonies of those sweet children, their angelic voices. I will never forget it and I know I could not have done it had I not been willing to serve the Lord and listen to revelation. Weak things are made strong.
