Hi I'm Thomas Walker

From the bottom to the top, I was born again and now, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Convert of about 4 years now, married to the amazing girl who was my missionary. We have two awesome little guys that keep us busy. I work at a college and attend that same school at night in attempts to earn my college degree. I am a sports fanatic, loving to watch or play any of them, my favorite sport being baseball! I love date nights with my eternal companion, we favor eating at Chevy's because the chips and salsa are killer! I love my immediate and extended family very much, they mean everything to me. I am very proud of my testimony and share it to those around me when I can, I know the Gospel can change everything for any individual.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I had a good life. My family were loving, we were financially secure, I generally got everything that I wanted. As I got older, events of life happened that built up anger and resentment. Parents divorced at 12, best friend committed suicide at 18, mom unexpectedly pasted away at 23. Nothing completely took away the pain or gave me comfort to deal with these big events, along with all the smaller things of life. I made a lot of bad decisions from the emotions that stemmed from these events throughout my life. One night, I met a girl out while dancing. It turns out she was a member and also had the boldness to give me a Book of Mormon with her testimony inside so I could find truth as she knew it. Having never read scripture or attended church I had no idea what to expect. I was confused about my direction what steps to take to better myself, I wanted help, I needed the Gospel. Quickly, I gravitated towards the story of Joseph Smith, a little boy who was confused just as I was. He wanted answers, he wanted to understand which path and steps to take as well. I felt like that was me too. Learning more about Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon and our church allowed me to understand that I could be forgiven for my previous bad decisions, find love, comfort and structure unlike anything I had felt before. My life is more fulfilling now that is ever has been. Never did I know that faith can do so much in good, or hard times. I have made the choice to be Mormon, because I know that this church is true. I know Joseph Smith, like me, wanted answers and was given his answers from Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. I know that this church and the Book of Mormon, alongside the Bible, is a safety net help us through the trials of life. I know we have the opportunity to live with Heavenly Father again in His kingdom and he waits for us to come unto him. This is part of my testimoney that I leave in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I live my life according the commandments of what I know to be true. I know that living righteously makes my Father in Heaven smile with approval. Try my hardest to support my family financially, spiritually, and emotionally. I love being able to share my testimony of the gospel with others. I am a ward missionary, a calling that allows me to share my story with all sorts of individuals. I love being able to converse with new converts or investigators, because I remember being there like it was yesterday. I also know that every day we can make a choice and life only gets better and better by choosing the right. Also a part of my calling is having the opportunity to teach Gospel Principles. I will admit that I have always been deathly afraid of teaching, but have quickly grown to look forward at each opportunity I have to learn more about the Gospel and help others too during this class. I love my family, my life, and my opportunity to live with our Heavenly Father again!!
