Hi I'm Alan

I grew up in Portland Oregon. I'm a computer engineer for Hewlett-Packard. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 5 boys, and a beautiful little girl. I graduated from Colorado State University with a Masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and am currently employed at Hewlett-Packard as an Expert Verification Engineer. I enjoy tinkering with computers and doing various Home improvement projects. I also enjoy bicycling to work, hiking, and camping in the outdoors with my boys. I am an avid scouter, and enjoy volunteering with a our local cub scout pack and scout troop. I am also a vocalist, and love to perform in any setting.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be baptized when I was 8 because I wanted to follow the example that Jesus Christ had set. Even at that young age, I felt happy and peaceful when I went to church and sang songs that spoke of Jesus, and read scriptures that spoke of His life. Since then, the Spirit has been a constant companion each day of my life. I've heard His subtle whisperings, direction, peace, and warmth, as He has guided my life in answer to my prayers. My relationship with Christ has grown, and continues to grow, through each day that passes. Christ is my strength, my beacon, my salvation, my all. Through His sacrifice I know that I can and will return to live eternally with Him someday.

How I live my faith

I am involved in the leadership of the church in the area in which I live. I work closely with the missionaries that are set apart to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this area. I enjoy visiting members of our congregation on a monthly basis, addressing their needs, offering service, and blessing their lives when needed.
