Hi I'm Kim

I grew up in Arizona. I play volleyball. I am a wife and mother. I'm a friend and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Arizona and lived in the same house until I moved away to college. Volleyball is a huge part of my life and I used my height to be a middle blocker in college. I married my wonderful, tall husband, who I've know since preschool, after I graduated college. I used my degree to teach 4th grade for 3 years while my husband finished school and before we had our first son. We've since moved to the midwest where I'm getting used to the climate that differs so greatly from Arizona weather! We've since had a daughter and hopefully a few more in the future. I'm so lucky that I am able to stay home with them as they grow. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, creating craft projects, and shopping and have a major sweet tooth! I try to play volleyball when I can and I love to be outside in nature when the weather's nice. I really enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends and visiting my extended family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate to be born to parents who belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They created a great foundation for me to learn about the gospel, grow up attending church, and follow the principles taught to me. I am grateful that I was raised following those truths because it provided me the tools needed to search out for myself if this was the true church. It wasn't until my Freshman year of college, that I took the time to really ponder, study and most importantly, pray about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. I felt a wonderful sense of peace and calm assurance that he was not only an amazing man, but a prophet of God who restored Christ's Church here on Earth and translated the Book of Mormon. I know that Jesus Christ died for me and was ressurected and because of that, we can all live again. I know he knows me and each of us individually and he understands how to help us face the challenges that have and will come our way. Now that I am married and have children, my testimony is even stronger that my family is eternal! What a great comfort that provides me to know I will be with my family again and that it doesn't end with death.

How I live my faith

Each day I try to live my faith doing things that can bring me closer to my Heavenly Father. My husband and I like to have a family night during the week, dedicated to building up our family and teaching the true principles and values of the gospel to our children. We love to sing and pray together and love doing fun activities with each other. My hope for them is that they learn show love and compassion for others and serve their fellow men. I want them to know how important and loved they are in Heavenly Father's eye and I know that knowledge begins in the home. My husband and I strive to strengthen ourselves and our marriage. We surround ourselves with friends that have similar values and participate in wholesome, positive activities that will help keep us on the path that Heavenly Father would want us to follow. While my most important job is in the home, I also have the privilege to serve within the church. I work with the children from ages 3 to 12 by teaching them lessons about their Savior, Jesus Christ and how to gain a better relationship with Him. As we teach them, I am learning and growing right along with them. They have such special, tender spirits and I feel so much gratitude in helping them know how much Jesus Christ and their Heavenly Father love them.
