Hi I'm Chris

I'm from Colorado. I speak Russian. I love lacrosse, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a SW suburb of Denver. I'm the youngest of four children and the only boy. I served a full-time misison in the Ukraine. My undergraduate degree is from BYU and I have a masters degree from Texas A&M. I'm now married and three kids of my own. I love coaching lacrosse and watching college football. I love to watch my kids play sports (lacrosse, basketball and hockey), listen to them play the piano and see them excel in school. I'm married to the greatest mom/wife/friend a man could ever hope for.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by parents that fully converted to the Church. Most of my childhood memories involve them being fully committed to their callings. Yet it was not until I left home and went to college, then served a full-time mission, that I became converted to the Church. That was the first time in my life I spent significant time reading, studying and praying about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon today because I believe that Joseph Smith entered the woods behind his childhood home and asked God which church he should join. I believe that God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him. I believe that they told him not to join any church as the full gospel of Jesus Christ was not on the earth at that time. I believe that the full gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth through Joseph Smith. I believe that John the Baptist came to Joseph Smith and resorted the Priesthood to the earth through him. This is the same priesthood that was used to baptize Jesus in the Jordan River. I am a Mormon today because I believe that Joseph Smith was a chosen prophet of God.

How I live my faith

Today I am a Bishop in the Church. My children are all grown and out of the house. My wife and I spend much of our time working with youth, counseling families, and doing service in our community. My wife is very talented musically. She conducts the choir in church and teaches music. We take every opportunity we can to be with our children and grand children.
