Hi I'm Dominique

I'm a musician, the mother of 5 boys, a manager at a department store, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to sing and play the piano. I love learning new things. Some things that I would like to accomplish in the near future are losing weight and going back to school. I have gone to college for 2 years and studied music. I'm now married and have 5 children, all boys. Yes, boys are destructive and they keep me very busy, and I definitely have enough for a basketball team! I also like gardening, finding fun sites on the internet, spending time with my family, travelling and baking. When I can find time I also like to read, especially historical books or motivational books.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. I'm far from being perfect, but being a Mormon gives me the desire to try harder to do what is right. I love knowing that if my family works together and we do the best that we can, that we will have the opportunity to be together again after death. I am also grateful to know that by being prepared for any hardships that may come to my family, that I won't need to fear because I'll have what I need to get through those times. I love knowing that I'm not alone...Heavenly Father and Jesus are always there, even through my trials. I like being different...people know that I have different standards and they are always intrigued by that. I don't swear, I don't drink or smoke.. people are surprised because I never have and have never had the desire to do that. I do have an occasional pop, sometimes caffeinated and sometimes not. Families are so important to us. It's sad to see so many families fall apart in this life. As a Mormon, we are given guidance as to how to work to keep our families together. I'm grateful to have that. I'm a better person being a Mormon. I know why I'm here on Earth, and what my purpose is here, and that it doesn't all end when we die. I truly believe this.

How I live my faith

I am the church chorister. I choose the music for each Sunday and find various people in the ward to perform special musical numbers for everyone to enjoy. It also helps us to keep building our talents. At home my family always says nightly prayers together. We also bless our meals and thank Heavenly Father for them. I need to be better about studying the scriptures. I love stories in both the Book of Mormon and the Bible. I like getting together with other families in the ward and doing things, whether for a church activity or just to have fun getting to know each other better. I also enjoy what we call Family Home Evening, where we take one night once a week and spend time with just our families and do something fun with them. We have short lessons, sing songs, play games, make treats and just enjoy each other's company. I'm not perfect about having our Family Home Evening every week, but I try.
