Hi I'm David

I was born Mormon, but that doesn't mean I'm not a convert. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to my beautiful wife for over 16 years and have 5 wonderful kids - 4 boys and one princess. I work in sales at a local construction materials manufacturer and have a back ground in sales, marketing, operations and management. I love sports, especially basketball and anything to do with water. I

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Lord's church, but that doesn't mean I'm not a convert. I think everyone has their own conversion story. Mine happened when I has trying to make the decision to serve a 2 year mission for the church. I figured that if the church was the Lord's true church, then I really needed to spend the time and money serving a mission. If not, then it was off to college. I distinctly remember asking God to answer my simple question about the Book of Mormon. I just wanted to know if it were true. Because if it were true, then Joseph Smith was a prophet and he restored the Lord's church on the earth. One day I was reading the Book of Mormon and a very specific feeling came over me where I had to stop reading and say outloud to myself it was true. I didn't hear a voice, but it was as if I did. It has been clear to me ever since. I'm not perfect, nor do I have visions or get daily revelations. I know I have a lot to work on to be worthy of the Lord's blessings in my life. But I know this, the Book of Mormon is true. It has helped me find more peace in my life than anything else and I know by following its teachings and those of the Lord's church I will find peace in heaven after this life is done.

How I live my faith

I get to work with the young men organization in the church. I've been working with the 16-18 year olds for the last 3 years and love it. I know how vital of a time in their life it is and I want to help those young men make the best choices for their lives. I also live my faith at home. While not as diligent as I could be, our family enjoys spending Monday nights together just turning off the TV and spending quality time together. We try to read the scriptures and pray daily and when we do, things just seem to "go" better.
