Hi I'm Lee

I am a husband, a father, a grandfather, a handyman and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been happily married for over forty years. I am an empty-nester. I have 3 children who are grown and who have children of their own. My work is in building maintenance and I also do most of my own home remodeling. I like to ride my bike, go for a walk in the forest, read a good book, or visit an art museum. I also like to get down on the floor and play with my grandkids. I have a weakness for books, tools, and watching home remodeling shows on TV.

Why I am a Mormon

While in the military, I crossed paths with someone who had been a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or the Mormons. He seemed to be well grounded, a moral person, and a happy person. He seemed to know what he was doing and where he was going. He was a person I could admire. I found out that his church and his faith made him what he was. Both my wife and I agreed to talk with some missionaries or members of the Mormon church and take some lessons. We were reluctant at first but soon found that the negative things we had heard were not true. After about 3 months we decided to join. Joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been the best thing I have done in my life. It has given me purpose and direction. I know that God really does exist. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I have found answers to my questions and answers to questions I had not even thought of asking. I feel that the pieces to the puzzle have been found. I believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a restoration of the original Church established by Jesus Christ when he was on the earth.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the Church for almost 40 years. Since there are no paid clergy, members of the Church get many opportunities for service. I have served in various leadership positions as well as teaching and clerk type positions. Currently, I am serving as a clerk caring for the financial and membership records of our local congregation. I do enjoy this opportunity to serve since I am able to get knowledge and experience in areas unfamiliar to me. I have had many opportunities to help others. Currently, my wife and I have been helping a widow who has many health problems. When she is able, we take her to Church on Sundays. Sometimes we help take her to the Doctor, help get her groceries, and help her keep track of her limited finances. I attend Church weekly, pray, read my scriptures, and strive to keep the Commandments and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Being a Mormon is a way of life, not just something I do on Sundays.
