Hi I'm Kent

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a home with wonderful parents and three brothers. Athletics and competition seemed to occupy my family's time and attention throughout my youth. Today, I am married to a wonderful daughter of God and we are the parents of one daughter and three sons. We have also welcomed to our family a great son-in-law and special daughter-in-law. Our daughter and her husband have also blessed our family with two cute granddaughters. Our family can often be found in one of the basketball gyms in the area cheering for one of our sons and their friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have found contentment and inner peace through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and that His Church was restored in these latter-days as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I believe there is a living prophet on the earth today who continues to receive revelation from a loving Heavenly Father. The heavens are not closed and God continues to teach and guide His children through those who have been called to proclaim His will. This doctrine is reassuring to me as I try to live my life in accordance with the will of the Father. I know the scriptures to be the word of God and have found direction for my life in their pages. I am thankful for a forgiving Savior who understands our faults and who makes us whole as we approach Him with a humble heart and contrite spirit in an attitude of repentence. I am a member of this Church because in it I have found the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in all that I do. In my home, my place of work, and my community, I try to behave in such a way that my actions will not give anyone cause to question my commitment to living a Christ-centered life. I enjoy visiting other members of the Church in their homes with my wife or youngest son as we try to bring a message of the gospel and to check on their well being. In my current role in the Church, I have opportunity to visit several congregations in our area and to work with the lay leaders as they strive to minister to the needs of their members. I see so much good in the lives of the members who are willing to sacrifice and to serve those in need. My faith is always strengthened by those who exercise their faith in small and simple ways as they help others find peace and joy in their lives.
