Hi I'm Dean

I grew up a Baptist. I had a college roommate from Utah whose answers to my religious questions were clear and heartwarming. ^_^

About Me

Father of 8, Grandpa of 13. Retired Civil Servant, project engineer for simulation and training devices. US Army Signal Corps Officer. Graduate of Virginia Military Institute (VMI). Life Scout, former Scout Master, current Scout Committee Chairman.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Baptist, a descendent of teachers and preachers. I've always been interested in religion. As a student in Sunday school, I got in trouble for asking questions that the teachers couldn't answer. As a junior in college, I got a new room mate from Utah. He was able to answer ALL of my questions. The answers were logical and reasonable. I didn't even know that anyone claimed to have living Apostles and Prophets. He introduced me to the missionaries who challenged me to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. I read some, knelt down beside my bed and asked God, 'Is the Book of Mormon true?' The answer was clear: "I have already shown you in your heart." That was true. I was just asking because the missionaries had challenged me to do so. ^_^

How I live my faith

I find great joy in focusing on serving God and blessing His children. As I ask God to help me do this, I'm confident that He will, because He loves them, and He loves me. I enjoy teaching at church and in people's homes. I also work full time as a volunteer at the Temple, helping people receive God's greatest blessings.
