Hi I'm Kathy

I grew up in Southern California. I love to garden, read uplifting stories and be around my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always loved my family and when growing up wanted one of my own some day. I am now a mother and grandmother and am happiest when around my children. Being outside puttering in my garden rejuvenates me. I'm not the greatest gardener but keep planting vegetables and especially flowers and learn as I do. We have a long growing season where I live and that helps. Although I am naturally shy, I like to help people in any way that I can. I try hard each day to be a better person, to become the woman that I know I can be. I am also interested in nutrition and natural remedies and am continually learning.

Why I am a Mormon

I did not seek to become a Mormon. But after I learned that I lived before I came to this earth and will live again my heart told me this was true. I can be with my family forever and this knowledge makes all the difference for me. I am complete as I worship my Father in Heaven and praise my Savior for his sacrifice for me, a sinner, and love and serve those around me. I am not alone even at my darkest hour and the knowledge that I am a cherished daughter of a loving Father is a treasure to me.

How I live my faith

I am willing to serve wherever I am asked. I have worked with the children and teenaged girls, I have led music in our Sunday meetings, worked with the missionaries and taken care of the library but now I am with the adult women from the age of 18 to 96. We plan Sunday meetings that include spiritual music and a lesson that can help us grow closer to God. We also set up weekly or monthly activities that can range from a bible study group, to gardening or cooking. It is always educational and it's a lot of fun visiting with the women, playing with their children and making new friends. This is a humbling responsibility and I go to the Lord often for guidance and support. "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." Mosiah 2:17. I truly believe that my hands are His hands and my eyes are His eyes. With the support of a great ward family, we accomplish much good. We rejoice with those that are rejoicing and mourn with those that are mourning. We are all brothers and sisters on this journey called life. I keep looking for the good in them.

How can I know Mormonism is true?
