Hi I'm Darrell

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father. My wife and I have 6 beautiful children. I like to read, be with my family, serve others and run for exercise.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Latter-day Saint family. My parents were always an example to me of what it means to love the Lord. My childhood and teen years were happy and fulfilling. I have always felt joy in choosing to follow the Savior. This faith further solidified when I chose to serve a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I served in Germany and discovered the joy that comes from devoting my time and talents in trying to bring others to Christ. I know that Jesus is the Son of God, that He is my Savior. This means He will save me from death and sorrow in the eternities. But it also means that He can save me now; that is, from misery, sin, and my own failings - as long as I am seeking Him each day of my life. He is my strength and the source of life's meaning.

How I live my faith

I am a teacher. I have been for over 30 years. I especially love to teach that which makes the most difference in people's lives. Therefore, I am a Church educator. I teach youth and young adults - the future and hope of our world. In my work and church service I also receive opportunities to share my beliefs with those not of our faith. I love these opportunities, because we are not physical beings meant to have periodic spiritual experiences. We are spiritual beings learning to navigate life in a physical world. Because of this, the truths of eternity are the greatest realities of this life. Knowing I'm a child of God and that He has a plan for us gives rich meaning to the simplest, even usually mundane things in life.

What is faith?

Faith is also to trust in the Lord, to believe what He is says, and to live my life in accordance with that belief. If I don't, I will remain in doubt regarding what He has taught. When I act on His teachings, my faith is confirmed and I see the fruits of my faith in Him. Show more Show less
