Hi I'm Susan

I am a mother. I am a baker of deliciousness. I am a reader extraordinaire. I love to laugh and I love my Savior. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom who loves to cook and losing myself in a good book. My family is my life and I love spending time with them. I am married to my best friend and we have 5, not so little but really amazing kids. I am finding joy in the journey of life. It's not always easy, but being able to see the positive in a situation is my goal. Not only for myself but for my kids to be able to do that, too. I love to cook and love to feed people so I often share what I've made with friends and neighbors. Giving service was taught to me from an early age and it is something I hope I'm teaching my children to do as well. Through service we learn the true meaning of love and charity, just as our Savior taught throughout His mortal life. I love watching my kids learn and grow and develop into the good people that they are.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it's true. I have read the Book of Mormon many times with my family and on my own and every time I feel closer to my Savior as a result. Being a part of this ministry has brought me true joy. I am so grateful to know my family is eternal. The peace this knowledge brings me is profound. Knowing I will see my dad again, knowing that my children and my sweet husband will be with me always is such a comfort and a strength to me. I am truly grateful for the faith of a young man named Joseph Smith and all he did and went through to restore the true church to the earth. I am grateful for the faith and determination and sacrifice of my pioneer anscestors in their journey west. I am grateful for the prophets, both past and modern day, for their continual guidance and reassurance. I am so grateful for my brother Jesus Christ. For His love and mercy. He gave his life for us that we might live. He has given us a way back to live with a loving Heavenly Father. He taught by example about true love and service and charity. I try to be a bit more like him everyday. I am a Mormon because being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and living its principles and ordinances is the only way to be truly happy in this life and to be exalted in the next. I love my Savior and want to be with Him again.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to often take meals and baked goods to families in need. I attend the temple whenever possible. I try to show kindness to everyone around me and to be a good friend. Being a faithful member of the church is so much more than just attending Sunday meetings, it is a complete lifestyle.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Susan
Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we have been given the chance to repent of our sins. To become clean. As humans, we cannot be perfect, but we can try our best. We won't be able to go the whole way on our own, but grace is where The Lord will meet us to take us the rest of the way. I have had a saying my whole life... "After you have done your best, Jesus Christ will do the rest." As long as we are trying our best to live the ordinances of the gospel, then the Atonement will make up for the rest.
