Hi I'm Jace

I'm from a small town in Idaho. I love sports and the outdoors. I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Jace, and I'm 22 years old. I played football, basketball, and ran track in high school. I am a big fan of being in the outdoors, doing such things as camping, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and riding my horses. I did attend college at Brigham Young University in Provo Utah, and I will be going back in January. As for now I drive a water truck in the oil fields. I hope to become a doctor, and one day maybe coach some football. I enjoy life and like to spend time with my friends and family. I have lived rough patches in my life just as we all have but I know that of I live the commandments that God has for us he will strengthen me and things will work out well. I'm not perfect but I truly do love becoming better and trying to do what's right.

Why I am a Mormon

Although my parents always have been members of the church, and I was baptized when I was 8 years old, I didn't actually know for myself what was true and what wasn't. I didn't worry about it too much. When I was going to school at BYU, I was reading from the Book of Mormon, and remembered the promise that all who ask God in faith if it is true will recieve a testimony from the Holy Ghost. While alone in my dorm room I kneeled down and simply asked, "God, is the Book of Mormon true?" At that time I felt the Holy Ghost testify to my heart that it is so. That's why I'm a Mormon, because God told me through the Holy Ghost that it is the true church where he wants me to be.

How I live my faith

Live my faith by doing just that. I follow the teachings of Christ. However, I'm not perfect so I also live my faith by repenting and trying to become better. I try to be an "example of the believers" and I do attend church regularly. In my work Sunday is a good day to get more hours and make more money but I take the time off to go to church every week and try not to work if I can help it. I could be better but I do the best I can and Christ helps me with the rest.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

We need a Savior because we make mistakes. Everytime we make a mistake it is as if we go into debt a little bit. We are unable to pay back that debt, and so Jesus Christ came and paid that for us. Since that is something we could not do for ourselves he doesnt ask us to completely pay that back. He asks us to have faith, repent, be baptized by the proper authority, recieve the gift of the holy ghost, and continue doing our best to the end of our lives. Christ has made up for all of our mistakes and only asks us to pay back what we can. Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Just like a wedding that is performed by someone who is not authorized to do so is not valid, so is a baptism that is not performed by the proper authority. Jesus Christ himself walked 3 days to be baptized by John the Baptist, because he had the authority. If one baptizing does not have authority it is just as valid in Gods eyes as a wedding performed without authority is in the governments eyes. Show more Show less
