Hi I'm Chad David Thompson

I grew up in Yuma, Arizona. I love to make people laugh. I can run like the wind. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 30 something husband and father that loves spending time with my family. My passions are family, food, and fun. I play golf and enjoy most team sports. I travel for work. I love to be on the road and see new places. Each time I go to a new city I like to do some research before hand to find local interesting places to visit. I have a backyard garden where I grow fruits and vegetables, I love tasting the fruits of my labor. I enjoy serving others and the feeling that I get when I do something for someone else. I try to stay healthy and enjoy finding new activities and ways to get in shape. As a family we enjoy camping, swimming, playing at the park and going for walks. We like hanging out with friends on weekends and spending time with our extended families. We go on vacation quite a bit and love traveling together to places we have never been or to places we can't get enough of, like the beach. Most of my days are spent working, doing yard work and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I want to be. The Mormon church gives me direction and a sense of knowing that Heavenly father loves me and that through Jesus Christ my family and I can return to live with them for eternity. The Mormon church is the only church that has received the Priesthood. By holding that Priesthood I can bless the lives of my family and those in need. Through that Priesthood the principles and ordinances of His gospel have been revealed to us and by following those teachings I can have happiness in this life and in the next life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith ever day by doing what Christ would do. I first and foremost try to live my faith by living the gospel standards. This bring me closer to Heavenly Father and in turn closer to everyone around me. I try to be an example to my wife and daughter by watching my speech and actions by not doing anything that would bring regret or shame to my family. As a family we also try to set an example by getting involved in our community. At Christmas we did a food and clothing drive for a local homeless shelter. By doing this we were able to help those in need, but more importantly we were able to follow Christ's example of selfless charity. Doing this as a family taught us that together by doing little thing we can make a big impact. I also work with the Elders in my church to organize activities that all the church families can participate in. I organized the Helping Hands Caring Hearts clothing drive for children going to school who weren't able to buy new clothes on their own. I think that by living my faith every day I learn how my actions effect those around me. I also have learned that by serving others as Christ would do, I am blessed.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Chad David Thompson
Joseph Smith was The first prophet in the latter-days. We revere him and regard him as God's mouthpiece during the restoration of the church. We do not worship or pray to him. We worship God the Eternal Father and his son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
