Hi I'm Mel

My family and I live in beautiful Arizona. They are the center of my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father, brother and son. My family is my greatest possession in the world and brings me great happiness. In my spare time I love to spend time with my family. My greatest joy in the world is just to be in their presence, laughing, playing games, and talking. Nothing would be more exciting than to spend eternity with them. I just finished a 26-year career with a pharmaceutical company. The Lord now has blessed me to able be a full time volunteer prison chaplain. This opportunity has been an incredible experience for me. Each week our branch conducts 23 worship services with the inmates. Christ's words "I was in prison and ye came unto me" have made an impact in my life. As I am able to enter the prisons and visit those who are disappointed, heartbroken, sad and in despair I feel the presence of our Heavenly Father. I know he loves each man and woman. I know the savior’s atonement is priceless for me and those in jail.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the love I feel from Jesus Christ. I love His current revealed truths that allow me to better understand the tremendous love the savior has for me. I love His teachings that make me feel close to him as my brother. As I learn about Christ and His sacrifice for me I am overwhelmed with gratitude. I love the savior’s constant guidance through teachings in the bible and modern apostles and prophets. The restored gospel gives me strength and guidance to strive to come to Him. I know the savior's invitation is real and that He wants me to draw close to Him. I see His presence all around and am constantly amazed. I want to be more like Him.

How I live my faith

Each day I want to be more like the savior. Whether I am spending time with my family or with my inmate friends I want to be an example of Jesus Christ. As I look at the blessings He has given me, I am overwhelmed with joy. I would like to find some small way to return a portion of His kindness to me. I find deep happiness in pondering the life of the savior and the impact He has had on the world. I am thrill when I can do some thing that would please Him.
