Hi I'm Dave

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to my sweetheart of nearly 20 years. We have 5 beautiful children. I practice law. I enjoy distance running (marathons, 1/2 marathons, 10Ks), triathlons, hiking, and generally being outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in an LDS family, with parents who were faithful and strived daily to exemplify the teachings of Jesus in our home. Throughout my childhood and youth, I grew in my understanding of the Savior's teachings and in my personal relationship with him. When I went away for college, after completing high school, I felt that this was a critical time in my personal spiritual development. Through more focused personal prayers and study of the scriptures, my relationship with the Lord matured greatly and led to a strong desire to share His Gospel through full-time missionary service. I was blessed to serve among the wonderful people in Eastern Europe for two years, where my testimony of the Gospel grew even more, as I shared it with others. Since returning home, the Gospel has remained the center of my life, leading me to a temple marriage with my wife and the blessing of five children. I know that, through faithfulness to the covenants and promises I have made in the temple, I can be together with my family not only in this life, but throughout eternity. I am grateful for a knowledge of God's plan for me--and for individuals and families, generally.

How I live my faith

I have had the blessing of serving in a variety of capacities in my local congregations, including teaching adult and youth Sunday School classes, serving in leadership positions within the priesthood, as well as working in with the nursery children. For the past several years, I have been blessed to work with the youth--in particular, the young men ages 12-18--in my congregation and neighboring congregations. In concert with other youth leaders, I plan and execute large events, such as youth conferences, that aim to develop the faith and strength of today's youth to meet the challenges of our times and remain faithful to the Gospel and the principles that will guide them to long-term happiness in life. The enthusiasm of these youth for life, their desire to serve, and their love for the Lord and His gospel is contagious! I am constantly amazed at, and taught by, their examples of faithful diligence and commitment to service to God and their fellow men.
