Hi I'm Jonny Quest

Born in New York City and live in Washington D.C. Virginia. I love music, theatre, film, and Disney. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Jonny. I grew up in New York City, Queens then in Virginia just a few minutes away from Washington D.C. Basically, I'm a city boy. I love the city life, but I love the suburban life as well. Most importantly, I love my family, so wherever they are, that's where home is for me. I love Disney a lot! Since I was five-years-old, I wanted to be the next Walt Disney. Call me crazy, but I'm still going for that goal. If I don't make it, oh well. I love singing, acting, dancing, playing musical instruments, film, learn different languages, play games, joke around, hang out with my friends, but again, my family is my pride and joy. It's just mom, dad, little sister, and our dog. Family really mean a lot to me no matter what. They are the ones that build me up and whenever I am with them is when I feel the happiest. I'm planning on going to school and major in business. I love my friends very much and I just want them to be happy and know that I am there to help them out whenever things go wrong. I also am a go getter and I love to learn new things in order to make myself a better person. I also love the Italian culture and really hope to go there someday. It can't get any better than this.

Why I am a Mormon

To understand why I'm a member, you have to understand my parents. My mother and her family were Catholic, but then baptized in the church when my mom was a teenager. They all went inactive. My dad and his family were all Catholic. Both my parents grew up in rough times, but they never lost hope. My parents are both from Colombia, but they met in New York City. My dad came to the states to try and support the family back home in Colombia when he was only 18 years old. He came alone with not much. My parents were married and then I was born and then my sister was born and we were baptized in the Catholic church, but for my parents, that was not enough. Because of my sister and I, my parents, especially my father, started thinking about our futures, just like any parents would. My parents did not want my sister and I to go through what they have had to go through. So my parents prayed for guidence. It was one day that my dad was lead to the impression that he should talk with the missionaries and see what the LDS church was all about. My mother instantly came back to reactivation and my dad was baptized. I was four when that happened. I grew up in the church learning about Heavenly Father's plan for us and how families can be together forever someday. I don't have an amazing story to share, but simply my parents kept telling me that I had to find out for myself if it was true. So I listened to my parents and I did so. I read the Book of Mormon for the first time when I was 15. I knelt down, prayed with all my heart, expecting that my Father in Heaven will give me an answer and I did. I could not overcome my emotions. I felt my Saviors love. The Book of Mormon is true. Because of my parents' humble testimony and my prayer to my Father in Heaven, I knew these things were true. The answer I recieved was simply "You know it's true, Jonny," and it's true. I know it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example. I try my hardest to be like Jesus Christ and to follow His example. I read the scriptures, pray, and go to church. I love participating in church functions and I love inviting my friends to them because I want them to have a good time and feel the Spirit in their lives. I serve others as best as I can with the many talents and abilities that Heavenly Father has given me to help Him in His work. I served a mission in Texas San Antonio for two years, but serving others does not end there. I strive to be honest and virtuous, which in these days is hard for a young man. I strive to be worthy. Most importantly, I strive to love everyone as much as possible and help them no matter what. I love the gospel so much and I love my Savior Jesus Christ and I know that my Redeemer live. I believe in Christ. Jesus is the Christ.
