Hi I'm Linda

I'm from Las Vegas. I love to watch sports. I am a mother of 5 girls, a grandma to 8 and I love the beach. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I met dragging Fremont Street after a high school basketball game almost 38 years ago. He wanted to be a dealer on the Las Vegas strip and have one child, a son. Instead, he was baptized into the Mormon church after taking the missionary lessons in my home, we were married in the temple about a year later, and we have five beautiful daughters. Life has been good but definitely not without challenges. Our love for our family knows no bounds. We are grateful for each other and all that we learn, as we grow and experience this wonderful life together. I love being a grandma to our eight beautiful grandkids. I love to paint, sew, cook, read and go to the beach. I get excited when I find a delicious new recipe, or a great new book. And I love sewing the grandkids Halloween costumes each year. I am a huge sports fan... football, basketball and volleyball are my favorites. Watching the kids run and play on the beach feels a little bit like heaven to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ and I know He is my Savior. I was raised a Mormon and was baptized when I was eight years old. I am so thankful for the loving way that I was taught about Jesus Christ. I grew up going to church every Sunday and participating in all of the church activities. My dad was the leader of our Mormon congregation. I leaned on my parents beliefs and it always felt good and right. When I was about 15, I really desired to know if I believed for myself that the things I had been taught all of my life were true. I had an undeniable experience as I prayed and read the Book of Mormon. A peace and calm came over me and I knew then, that what I had always believed was indeed true. It became my own personal witness and a knowledge that I could never deny. I had a deep desire to be married in the temple so that my family could be sealed together forever. When I was 16 I met a handsome guy who truly took my breath away, I desired for him to believe what I knew was true. He had been around Mormons growing up, but had never looked in to it too much. He was raised in a strong Methodist home. One of the sweetest memories of my life is when my future husband took the missionary lessons in our home. As I watched his testimony take root and his faith grow, mine grew too. I am a Mormon because I know without any doubt that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church on earth today. I am a Mormon because I believe in God's promises and I know that we can be together as a family forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by trying to love, reach out, and be kind to my neighbors, friends and my family. I love to teach the youth and prepare messages that will inspire them to want to live good, happy, Christ centered lives. I enjoy going to classes and learning from amazingly talented people and I try to share my talents with others too. I recently taught a group of young girls in my home some sewing, cooking and even how to make homemade bread. I am blessed to have a wonderful circle of friends who share the same beliefs as I do. Every month I visit an incredible woman who has had breast cancer 4 times and is undergoing treatments again. Her spirit and positive attitude lifts my soul. As I have taken her to chemo treatments and sat with her and others battling cancer, my heart is filled with love and hope as I watch them courageously face this disease. My beautiful friend teaches me about love, faith, hope and facing difficult challenges with grace and courage. One of my favorite times is when we gather as a family every week and read the scriptures, and share experiences and faith filled stories that lift and bless us. We love laughing, praying, learning together, and sharing our love for each other as we talk about Christ and how He would want us to live. Being a wife, mom and grandma is the greatest joy of my life. I want to be with our family always, and by being faithful, living a Christ centered life, and through temple covenants I know we can be together forever.
