Hi I'm Linda

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 6 great children who are all grown and married. We have 24 grandchildren. It seems funny to be that old, but it happens to all of us. I graduated from a large high school, and attended college for 2 years. I used to make pottery, preferring to use a potters wheel, but had to quit due to a health problem. I still miss it. I love the sunny weather we have in Colorado, plus the variety of seasons. I like Snow skiing, water skiing, going for walks, and I especially love to travel. We have seen much of the world, but there is still much to see. Cruising is my travel method of choice, but I love going to a foreign city and spending days exploring on foot too.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, but there comes a time in each person's life when they need to find out for themselves. Like most people that came a little at a time throughout my life. I am a Mormon because I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that we need revelation always in our lives, and as a Mormon I know that revelation is possible now. We need to have answers to prayers and that can come as personal revelation. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet who restored the true gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth after it had dwindled away following the death of the His Apostles. I know that this is the true gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ. I need him every hour of my life and strive to be close to him and to follow his teachings every day.

How I live my faith

In our congregation everyone helps by teaching or being a leader. We all do our part to help others and make things run smoothly. I have helped in many ways through the years. I love serving the other women in the Ward. There are 3 women that I visit with each month to be sure that they are doing well. During these visits I have gotten to know them pretty well, and I share a spiritual message with them. This is such an important thing to make sure all is well with everyone in the Ward. I love helping and being of service to others.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Linda
As a woman in the Church I definitely feel equal. I have had leadership positions and feel that my opinions and ideas are valued and used. I do not feel inferior or ruled over by men at all. Our roles as men and women are, by nature, different. Some of us are made to be mothers and some to be fathers. I have enjoyed being a mother and homemaker, but there are many professional women in the Church, and they and their contribution are very valued as well. In our family we are equal partners, each having different roles, but equal. We work together to make decisions and accomplish goals. Show more Show less
