Hi I'm Julie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a divorced/single mother of 2 daughters (early teen years). I grew up in a large family and am the second oldest of 9 kids (3 girls, 6 boys). I was born into the church, but that did not exclude me from my share of trials, but it is only by faith and effort that I am able to overcome them and have made it this far. I am artistically inclined. I love to paint, draw, sculpt, craft, sing, dance (mostly when no one is looking), cook, laugh, and share with others. I am currently attending school, for an associates degree for Therapeutic Massage.

Why I am a Mormon

I became Mormon by birth. My parents are both Mormon (LDS) and so that is how I was raised. However, I remain Mormon because of prayerfully seeking for myself to know that I was on the right path. It was not a one time thing. I have had many trials in my life that have tested my faith, but I never let the trials win, instead I prayed more fervently for guidance, comfort, and direction and I know that without the gospel in my life I would not be who I am today. I can picture myself without the gospel, knowing myself and my tendencies, and I do not like the person that I see. I know that my faith in this gospel is what keeps me going and strong enough to not give up.

How I live my faith

I have held many callings (positions) in the church. I have mostly been involved with the younger children (under 12 yrs old) as a teacher, and a group leader for activity days for the 8-12 yr. old girls. It brings so much joy being able to teach the children about our Savior and to watch them grow in the love and light of Christ. Being a part of that growth and watching them develop their own little testimonies is so rewarding, and the teaching goes both ways. You lean so much from these precious children too; patience, unconditional love, forgiveness. Over the years I have also helped in planning (as well as decorating) activities for the church such as dinners and dances, and most recently helping in planning and carrying out activities for the church singles group in our area. Not much else brings such great joy as serving our brothers and sisters through the love of our Heavenly Father. :)
