Hi I'm Vanessa

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mum to 5 young children ranging in age from 13 - almost 3. I also organise a local boutique market with my sister that is held monthly. We're in the process of renovating our house and slowly we're getting there! As a family we like to go to the beach to spend time together. Recently we got a dog so we are also enjoying looking after him and remembering not to leave shoes outside! I'm also involved on the School Board at my children's school and am also part of the School Care Pantry Committee where we co-ordinate the provision of meals for needy families in our school community. I like to do crafty things but don't get much spare time! I also love to read and learn new things. Hanging out with my husband is my favourite thing of all time!

Why I am a Mormon

I am grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. As a parent it guides me & my husband to make correct choices for our family, as well as each individual child. Sometimes it's hard to be parent and it's great to know that you can always turn to Heavenly Father in prayer and receive guidance and answers to deal with situations. As I talk to many different people each day, I feel so blessed to have the knowledge about the plan of salvation and why we're here on earth. Things that happen just make more sense and I feel great peace in my life. It doesn't mean that I don't have challenges or hard times in my life, it just means that I know I can get through anything with the help of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

At the moment I organise a monthly activity for the children ages 8-12 in our Ward. We have so much fun together! We do crafts, sports, learn new things, play games and anything else that we can think of. The children always look forward to our time together and I hope they will remember the great experiences we shared in years to come. In recent years I have also been involved some fundraising events for a local breast cancer charity. Each October we organise a Charity Dessert Auction which all the ladies look forward to. There is always some hot bidding competition on some of the desserts but it's also great to know we are making a difference to a local charity.
