Hi I'm Shaun

I was born in Plymouth, UK. My life path changed when I moved to Australia in 2007 with my wife & two children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a multi instrumentalist and am experienced in guitar, vocals, bass and percussion. In September 1995 I gained a diploma in Music and Technology Training. It was on this course that I gained valuable experience in the areas of performance, composition and music workshops. I began teaching guitar through contact with parents at my daughter’s school and from there I gained employment with Youth Music Action Zone and began tutoring young people on guitar, bass and drums in a youth club. I built relationships with young people by motivating and encouraging to develop talent, and participate in music. I have worked with many groups of young people constructing musical projects. I've also been writing and recording my own music for the last ten years and have an enormous repertoire of songs of different genres. During my working week I spend my supervising field staff for a Telecommunications company. I love to spend most of my spare time with my wife and two children, whom I value most of all. We spend much of our enjoying the great outdoors together on walks, and day trips to the beach. It makes such a difference having moved from the UK, as the weather allows us to do so much more as a family. However we do miss family and friends back home.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, baptised at the age of eight, ordained a Deacon and later a Teacher. I had the privilige of performing Baptisms in The London Temple, pass the Sacrament and take part in church duties along side the young men of our ward. Our family was extremely active in service, however personal circumstances changed our lives forever. My father and Uncle both served as Bishop's in the ward, which is something I'm very proud of today. My Nan & Grandad both served two missions together, one in India and the second in The Philippines. To fund these missions they sold their home. They Baptised families on both missions, and have kept in touch with one family from India who have since moved to the UK to live. Such an amazing achievement considering my Grandparents were both at the age of retirement. Before my Grandads passing, he gave me all of my fathers documents including my own from baptism through to Bishops certificates, many of which have special signitures, one being from The Prophet Spencer W Kimble. These certificates are priceless to me. My father passed away suddenly in 2000, it was very sad and unexpected for all involved. He died on the same day as my Grandads birthday, which is still to this day a question which is left unanswered. However the passing of my father has restored my love & faith for the gospel. So maybe my question has already been answered! I am lucky to have a loving wife, with two beautiful children. It is my dream that one day my family will join me at church, to then be baptised by myself and be sealed as a family for all time and eternity. I continue to hope & pray for this miracle to happen! It is through the holy ghost that my testimony of absolute truth of The Gospel exists. Truth & happiness is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There is no other church on earth that provide the answers with such love and clarity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day & one step at a time. The more faithful I am, the more faith I receive. The more righteous and worthy I am, the more guidance, presence & promptings I assimilate from the Holy Ghost. It's through the privilege of being baptised into The Gospel that we receive The Gift of The Holy Ghost. I attend Church every Sunday and have met many wonderful people who show such unconditional love & freindship. By attending Church it helps me to understand and learn about The Scripture & Doctrines of The Restored Gospel. This in turn teaches me how we all should be living our lives to grow spiritually, learn from our mistakes and make ammends from our wrong doings. I partake of The Sacrament every Sunday because The Saviour wants us to remember The Atoning Sacrifice that was made for the remission of sins. Just like laws of gravity and physics, we cannot change what is given, whether we like it or not. The very same applies to Heavenly Fathers laws and The plan of Salvation. At this time I have no callings/Duties in The Church. It is my goal to receive the Melchizedek Priesthood. I hope and pray I am strong enough to achieve this. For this to happen I will need to be worthy of such a privilege, as it comes with great reponsibility in both the eyes of The Saviour and the members of The Church.
