Hi I'm Kirk

I'm a husband. I'm a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I are happily married and we have six children. I love to spend time with my family. Over the years I’ve spent a lot of time playing tennis, running, camping, hiking, off-roading, and snow skiing. I also enjoy reading and watching high-quality movies. Recently I’ve been slowly trying to improve my chess game. I earned a bachelor's degree in Japanese. As an adult I’ve lived in Utah, Idaho, Michigan, California, Japan, and Arizona. I’m a software quality engineer.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon. When I was a freshman in high school I decided to read the New Testament. From that experience I learned that God is real and that He hears and answers our sincere prayers. I know that that Jesus Christ is His son. When I was nineteen I served as a missionary in Japan. It was a great experience and I came to know for myself that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I have experienced many miracles in my life. I feel peace and joy as I remember Christ in my daily life and follow His teachings.

How I live my faith

I strive to be a loving husband and father. There is nothing more important to me than my family. I believe a happy home is like heaven on earth. In our congregation I get to serve the 14 and 15-year-old young men. I serve with several other adult leaders. I meet with the young men each Sunday to review a gospel topic. One night a week I get to participate with them in a scouting activity. About once a quarter we go camping and once a year we get to go on a week-long high-adventure camp. We have a lot of fun. I am grateful for my association with the young men and for my friendship with the other leaders.
