I was born in Portland Oregon. I moved to the State of Washington and was converted when I was 26 in 1982. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 55 years old and work a regular job in a warehouse. I used to drive truck and may go back to that. The economy has my family and myself hard. My faith and my wife are the only things keeping me going. We have no children but we do have three cats and are currrently feeding 2 more stray cats, So I guess you could say we're a cat family. We enjoyed walking and hiking untill I developed arthritis in my knee. We enjoy watching movies and the BYU channel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Catholic and went to a Catholic grade and high school. When I got on my own I had no interest in the Church and quickly fell away. I did feel a need though and was drawn into several other churches including Church of Christ, Church of scientology and and some of the Eastern philosofies such as Budism and Hinduism as well as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons). Mostly because of my own lack of commitment and faith I ended up leaving all of them. I was devoid of any church for many years and then a series of circumstances caused mostly through my own stupidity and lazyness caused me to rethink the whole religious thing. By this time I had married a nice Catholic girl and had tried to go back to the Catholic Church but I just hated it. I knew where I had to go. I don't know how I just knew. Then we had a devestating tragedy. We have no children but we did have a cat, our little girl. She was killed and I had a choice to make. I told nobody about this and the next day two Mormon Missionaries appeared at my door. They came every week and other members of the church stopped by to visit from time to time. Six months later I started going back to Church and have been going ever since for almost ten years. It hasn't been easy especially in this economy which hit me really hard and still knocks my on my fanny every day. My faith and my dear wife are the only things that have kept me going.

How I live my faith

I am a teacher in my Church which I really enjoy. I think that my years as a teacher of some of the men in our Ward has been my time of greatest growth. We also have a Bible study class and I am the class president, also something I really enjoy. I do occassional work at the Church cannery as well as the Ensign Ranch. We also have community service projects as well as member projects. I am also a Home teacher to two wonderful families as well as having two fine and dedicated home teachers of my own. We have socials and pickniks regularly and my wife and I try to make it to all of them. Even though she's Catholic the ladies of the Mormon church have embraced her as one of their own and some of her closest friends are now of my Church. They call her their Catholic Mormon. I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon regularly (Almost every day). I Pray to my heavenly father constantly and formally twice a day and thank him for the gift of his son Jesus Christ and my many blessings.
