Hi I'm Annette

I am from Washington state. I try to live life to the fullest and share my enthusiasm for happiness. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being physically active. I was raised in the Puget Sound area of Western Washington, and my parents always encouraged physical activity for my two older brothers and me. My husband and I enjoy "playing outside" as my parents would say. We live in a beautiful area where we are close to nature and can enjoy many outdoor activities. I also love spending time with family, and sometimes I wish there were more than 24 hours in a day so that our gatherings can last longer. I love to bake much more than cook, and fudge is my specialty - hence the need for physical activity! I am a convert to the church. I was introduced to the church by my now husband when I was a single mother in my early 30's. Though I had met a few Mormons in my early years, I was not ready at that time to understand and accept the gospel. In fact, I had no idea just what the gospel was! But when I met my husband I had started to look for something positive and try to understand who I was and who I could be to better my life and the lives of my two sons. Our Heavenly Father allows us to take baby steps if we need to, in order to embrace the goodness in life at the right time - when our eyes have been opened and our hearts softened. He does not put obstacles in our way, rather He puts blessings before us if we but only look and realize them. I am a mom, a gramma, a daughter, a sister, a cousin, a niece, an aunt, I am Mormon, and I am truly happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I believe we are all here for a purpose. Our Heavenly Father wants us to be happy, but that doesn't mean we can be free of trials. Trials and tribulations come, it's what we do to overcome them that makes a difference. Choosing the right is important to me. When I was a single mother I wanted to improve my life to help my children grow up happy and strong, and to be good people. I was in the right place, in the right frame of mind, ready to receive the gospel when my husband met me and introduced me to the church. I am happy he was led by the spirit to share the gospel with me. Some say Mormons are restricted from doing so many things, but I say the guidelines that are shared with everyone are there to help us be healthy, strong, happy, safe, comforted, and to be prepared to help others. What a blessing! I am a Mormon because I love being happy!

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. I have been called to serve the youth, the nursery, the young women, the Relief Society, and am currently the bulletin coordinator. I am always willing to try whatever calling my bishop and his counselors are inspired to offer me. I believe it is my duty to serve my family, my ward members and my community. Without service, life would be empty and happiness would be hard to come by.

Are Mormons Christians?

Annette
This question always shocks me. Yes, an astounding YES, Mormons are Christians. We are The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is the Savior of the world, the head of our church, the living Son of the living God, and through His atoning sacrifice we have the opportunity to return to our Father in Heaven and have eternal life. Jesus Christ is my brother, my King, my exemplar, my Redeemer, my Savior, my friend. Yes, Mormons are Christians. Show more Show less
