Hi I'm Amy

I grew up in Kent, Washington. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happily married mother of 6, including 3 step-children. I enjoy reading, cooking & spending time with my family. My husband and I enjoy watching cooking shows and trying new recipes together. We love to play & have fun. Life wasn't easy growing up. I faced many challenges in my life & have survived them.....although not easily. Some challenges were placed in front of me & I made the "wrong" choice but, without going through it all, I wouldn't be who I am today. Life isn't always easy now, but now I don't have to ever face it alone.

Why I am a Mormon

Up until age 5, I went to the Mormon church with my mother. After that, our family fell away from the Church. During Junior High & High School, I attended Mormon functions, such as dances & Seminary. Each time I went, I felt good & like it was right. Sadly, I allowed what others thought of me to get in the way. When my husband and I invited Missionaries into our home, it brought a renewed sense of comfort. With their lessons & guidance, I chose to be baptized. I was blessed to have my husband baptize me. It has brought us closer together & our relationship has a new dynamic. I have seen my relationships with others change for the better as well. Even our children are making better choices and remembering to try to treat others with respect. I have a renewed faith in God and in myself.

How I live my faith

I live my faith with prayer and service for others. It isn't always easy to remember to take the time to pray or read my scriptures. But when I do, there is such a peace that comes over me..it makes me wonder why I don't do it more often. I am naturally a care taker so providing service for others is something I enjoy doing. Whether it is taking someone a meal or just calling to say hi. It is just as beneficial for me as it is to the person I am reaching out to.
