Hi I'm Cori

I'm a wife and stay-at-home mom of 4 wonderful kids. My life is crazy, but I love it!! I am also a dental hygienist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, and a dental hygienist. I only work 1 day a week! We don't have much beyond our needs, but I'm glad we're able to pull it off so I can stay at home with my 4 young children. Life is super busy and crazy at times, but I love it! I love to watch movies, read, and definitely sleep!! I love to see my kids happy!! My husband and I enjoy our "date nights" to movies, restaurants, or a friend's house. We love to play board games! Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride are the current favorites.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church. However, I did gain my own testimony around the age of 14. I did this by reading the scriptures and praying to know if what I read was true. Knowing the LDS church is true is something I know personally. It is hard to describe since it is such a deep feeling of truth given through the Holy Ghost. I just had a burning feeling in my heart and an absolute clear head that YES, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I am constantly reaffirmed, but since I gained my own testimony I have never questioned whether the LDS church is true. I absolutely love the gospel of Jesus Christ! It is such a blessing in my life. What I love most about it is knowing the gospel helps me every day to try to be more like my Savior. I do know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I do know that my Savior came to this earth and lived a perfect life, suffered for our sins in Gethsemane, and died on the cross so that we can repent and return to live with our Father in Heaven again. I know that my family can, through our obedience and faithfulness, be an eternal family. I know that Joseph Smith, as a 14 year old boy praying to know which church to join, saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Through him, Christ's true church was restored to this earth. We continue to have prophets today who receive revelation from our Father in Heaven. The Book of Mormon is a true testament of Jesus Christ and is the word of God. Many people have to search for the truth, but I am grateful that it was right in front of me thanks to faithful parents.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending my sacrament meetings every week. My family and I read scriptures together and say our family prayers. I do my personal prayers as well. I need to do my personal scripture study more, but I haven't been great about that! I am a visiting teacher to 2 awesome women. I serve as secretary to our women's organization. I LOVE our women's organization. In any ward you go to in the world, you immediately have a network of wonderful Christian women. I feel that my best quality of living my faith is by keeping a prayer in my heart throughout each day. This helps me to recognize Heavenly Father's hand in my life and to be grateful for my blessings.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Cori
I feel like my life is perfectly normal. We hold jobs, attend school, have struggles, have family and friends, have sorrow and joy, etc. I struggle with many of the same things other women my age do. My kids aren't perfect and my marriage isn't perfect. Knowing Gospel principles does help us to live a happy life. We know where we came from, know why we're here, and know where we're going. I truly believe this helps us to be a happier people. We keep ourselves free from any habit or substance that can control us. This includes drugs, tobacco, alcohol, gambling, and pornography.
