Hi I'm Kevin

I grew up in Wisconsin. I love football (Go Packers!), I'm an attorney, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I moved to Arizona almost ten years ago. I am a husband to the most wonderful woman in the world. I am also a father to four boys and stepfather to three more boys and one beautiful girl. My second marriage brought me a larger family than I ever thought I would have, but it's the best thing that ever happened to me. We have a great group of kids, and though our family life is busy, it's lots of fun. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was 33 years old. I'm a big sports fan, and like to spend my free time following the Packers, Brewers, as well as a few local Arizona teams.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Catholic faith, but spent very little of my adult life going to church. While living in Wisconsin, I had no exposure to the Mormon church. Upon moving to Arizona, I was exposed to bits and pieces of the Mormon church, but initially it went no further than that. However, as I father of young children, I reached a point in my life where I felt it necessary to determine what role religion was going to play in my life, and by extension, the life of my family. My wife was a member of the Mormon church, but I was not willing to join any church just by virtue of the fact that we were married. When I decided to check out the Mormon church, it had to be for me first, and my family second. I had always believed in God and his son, Jesus Christ. But I never knew them before. While being taught by two dedicated missionaries, I had the opportunity to learn and know of them, for myself, through heartfelt prayer and reading the Book of Mormon. As is promised in the Book of Mormon, I received my own personal confirmation, in a moment of quiet prayer, that I am a child of God; that He is my Heavenly Father; that He has set forth a perfect plan, the Plan of Salvation, by which we can choose for ourselves to live our lives in a way that will qualify us for eternal life with our families; that His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, is my savior; that Christ lives, and through His atoning sacrifice my sins can be forgiven and washed away. I have never in my life experienced the kind of peace, joy and happiness that I have since joining the Mormon church. I feel now that my life has real purpose. I understand my role and responsibility as a husband and a father, and I am so much better in those roles than I ever was before. I enjoy the opportunity I have now to teach the things that I have come to know to be true and to share my own experiences in learning about and joining the Mormon church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith as part of my everyday life. I try to be a good example to my kids, and I enjoy reaching out to try and be a good friend and neighbor. I greatly enjoy the chance to serve in the church. Right now, I have the opportunity to work closely with the full-time missionaries to teach the principals of the gospel to individuals in our area looking to learn more about the Mormon church. I feel like I can offer something helpful from my perspective as a convert to the church. It's uplifting to see the effect that the blessings and teachings of the Gospel have on individuals and families.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another testament of our savior, Jesus Christ. It is another scriptural witness that Jesus Christ really lived, that He was and is God's Son. It was written by ancient prophets, called by God, who lived in the Americas and is specifically directed to teach and uplift those of us living in the modern world. The Book of Mormon contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, and testifies of His Atonement and His love for each and every one of us. It supports and verifies the Bible. The teachings and the promises contained in the Book of Mormon have changed my life. I encourage you to read it, ponder its messages, and pray to learn for yourself that the Book of Mormon is true.
