Hi I'm Lisa

I'm an attorney, baker, food blogger, and K-pop fan, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently single and spend my week working as a full-time Workers' Compensation Defense attorney. On the weekends, I devote my time to creating, baking, and blogging about the fantastic treats that I share with my friends, neighbors, and the Young Women in my ward, with whom I serve. Ten years ago, I served a mission in Brazil and absolutely loved the time I spent there, the people that I met, and the warm, friendly culture of that country.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts and I was born into the Church. But, it was when I went on my mission that I truly gained a testimony of the gospel, its principles, and teachings. It was incredible to feel the Spirit and to finally know, not just believe, that all of it was true. Life hasn't been easy and there have been times when I've been tempted to fall away. But, it's times like that when I've learned it's more important than ever to hold on, put your faith in the Lord, and continue to trust in Him. As I've done that, I've come to realize that He truly does love me and has a plan for me.

How I live my faith

Right now, I'm serving in my ward's Young Women's presidency. It's definitely hard work, a lot of responsibility, and requires a lot of my time, but there's no place else I'd rather be at the moment. Serving with these girls and feeling the Spirit so strong as I teach them and work with them has made this one of the most rewarding experiences and callings of my life. My testimony has strengthened so much as a result. It's also made me think more about the way that I act and the things that I do because of the fact that I have to practice what I preach to them. The girls themselves and this calling have made me a better person and I thank God every day for giving me this opportunity and the joy that comes with it.
