Hi I'm Melissa

I thrive in nature and enjoy a good outside adventure. I love continually learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Being outside in nature is one of my favorite things. I grew up camping and hiking with my family and know that these activities will never get old. I am constantly learning how to balance my life between family, church, fulltime work, continuing my education towards a master's degree, and having time for fun or just reading a good book.

Why I am a Mormon

My religion is what makes me who I am. One of my biggest goals is to strive to be like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I was raised by wonderful parents who are members of the church and there came a point in my life when I was about eleven that I realized I needed to know for myself what was true and correct. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed sincerely and came to know that it truly is the word of God and that my Heavenly Father knew me personally. I am continually strengthened through reading the scriptures and praying to my Heavenly Father. Life often gets busy, but I know that as I put my Savior and beliefs first things fall into place. I am nowhere near perfect, but through the gospel I know that I can repent and continue to become a better person. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me the hope that I need in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily as I study the scriptures and pray every morning and night. This is how I am able to have the influence of the spirit as I make daily choices. I attend church each Sunday where I am a leader over the young female single adults in my area. This includes responsibilities such as organizing who will teach lessons, developing unity and love among them, and helping with physical and spiritual needs. I love the opportunities I have to serve others and to teach the things that I know to be true.
