Hi I'm Tommy

I'm from San Diego. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up I loved to play sports, especially baseball. In high school I got into football as well and loved it. I've always loved team sports and the sense of belonging that comes with them. Because of that, I thought that I would love a job that would somehow be involved with them. After high school, I went on a mission to Switzerland and since coming back have been studying at college in hopes of one day being a physical therapist. I love running, being active, and trying to do my best to help others and hope that my job will allow me to do that as well as provide for a family some day in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church when I was 13 years old and am so glad that I did. I was taught by the missionaries for a couple months and knew that what they were teaching was true. I felt something wonderful inside that I had never felt before as they shared their message about Jesus Christ and the restoration of His gospel. I was baptized and have been active in the Church ever since. I have received so many blessings because of that decision. I have grown to love my family more and more, my motivation in school and work has skyrocketed, and I have found purpose in my life. I know now that God lives and that He has a plan for me. That motivates me to try to be the best person I can be. Although life is not always easy, I know that I can do all things through faith in Christ and that He is always there for me. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in my day-to-day activities. I read in the scriptures and pray daily and that helps me keep a close relationship to my Father in Heaven. When I have opportunities to serve other people, I try to take them whenever I can, whether that's visiting people in my church who need a helping hand or just being there for a friend who's in need. I'm a part of our local church's activities committee and we try to plan activities so everyone can come and make friends and have fun. It's been a great way to feel involved, make friends, and grow in my love for God and His children. Going to church on Sunday is also a great way to take a break from everyday life, feel the love of friends and God, and be reminded of Him. It gives me a boost for my week every time. When I'm active in trying to live my faith, I feel a closer relationship to God and notice His helping hand in my life.
